\nHOUSTON \u2014 A man is dead after Houston police said he was shot and killed Sunday by his common-law wife.<\/p>\n

This happened at about 12:35 p.m. in the 6300 block of Richmond Ave, which is near the Galleria area.<\/p>\n

According to police, the woman said she was worried about her safety and the safety of her children so she shot the man.<\/p>\n

The couple’s 2-year-old child was in the house at the time of the shooting along with a dog. Both the child and the dog were released to family members. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Noma property owner shoots man who entered vacant house<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nA property owner shot a man who entered his vacant house Thursday night, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.<\/p>\n

Two executors of an estate on the 400 block of 10th Street in the Noma neighborhood entered the home to prepare it for a sale when they encountered a man inside and shot him in the neck, said SMPD Lt. Joseph Cortez.<\/p>\n

SMPD officers responded to the scene at 8:10 p.m. Thursday and transported the man to Ronald Reagan Medical Center in critical condition. Cortez said the man underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.<\/p>\n

Details surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, Cortez said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
