  • Think the media will report this? (Video added)

    Here’s one of the first signs I encountered this morning

    Here’s the video;

    Bill Perry and I aren’t friends any more. He introduced to his crowd of Vets For Peace as “That lying SOB from This Ain’t Hell”. Ward Reilly was polite, though, so was Michael MacPhearson. Jim Goodnow told me to keep up the good work. I guess he’s not a reader.

    Free Republic is here;

    They stalwartly followed the protest and got plenty of interviews through out the day’s fun.

  • Frank: ACORN is Bush’s fault

    Reversing the statement that was put out by his office yesterday, Barney Frank has suddenly decided that what ACORN did was bad in regards to helping hookers and pimps set up houses of ill-repute in low income neighborhoods and staffing those houses with underage immigrants. However, he’s not ready to accept responsibility that he and his party are responsible for ACORN’s behavior nor funding. In fact, Frank, of course, blames the Bush Administration (Washington Examiner link);

    I very much disagree with the partisanship that has entered into this. ACORN was the recipient of funding throughout the Bush administration, with $14.2 million going from the Bush administration to ACORN through HUD. And I can attest that this was an entirely Executive Branch decision: No congressional action in any way, shape or form required that any of these funds go to ACORN as opposed to other organization. And I do not remember during the period from 2001 to 2006 when the Republicans controlled the White House, HUD, the House and the Senate, and ACORN was receiving millions of dollars, any Republican objection to this.

    Yes, I remember clearly that Republicans have always pushed for ACORN to receive federal funding. I also remember ACORN advancing Republican candidates in inner cities in exchange for Republican patronage. In fact, I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen ACORN representatives in Republican neighborhoods trying to convince the scotch and soda crowd to register to vote.

    How dumb does Barney Frank think we are?

  • Oath Keepers remove IVAW “testimony”

    The other day I linked to “testimony” of an IVAW member by the name of Eric T Orseske at the Oath Keepers website. Some of you went over there and engaged the Oath Keepers and called them on their hypocrisy in a battle that lasted for over 50 comments. Founder Stuart Rhodes defended his decision to leave the young man’s testimony on the website by using the words of Ron Paul who endorsed Adam Kokesh’s Congressional candidacy;

    Adam Kokesh has been a tremendous supporter – of both me AND you! As a leader of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Adam has spent years traveling the country to spread our message of peace, a strong national defense and limited government. Adam has tremendous credibility because of his service in the United States Marine Corps and I have deep respect for his commitment to principle.

    Of course, using Ron Paul to quell dissent in their ranks only tells you the level of discourse at Oath Keepers.

    Well, finally, Rhodes and “the board” has capitulated and removed that particular testimony. During the discussion, Oath Keepers used phrases like “is our great nation afraid of a few communists?” Well, apparently Oath Keepers are afraid of a few communists;

    IVAW in particular has direct connections with some radical left collectivist individuals and organizations, who would scrap this Republic in a heartbeat if they could, to replace it with their own collectivist vision. Such collectivism is incompatible with Oath Keepers, an organization dedicated to the preservation of this Republic. As Oath Keeper Vietnam Vet Lew Waters said: “IF someone shows and acknowledges a propensity to support the very views we are swearing to stand up against and openly admits to obeying those who would impose the very programs we say we will oppose, are we not leaving our flanks exposed?”

    Those were the arguments you and I were making through out the discussion. Thanks to all of you who participated in the removal of this IVAW garbage from the internet. As long as IVAW refuses to silence the subversive voices in their ranks, we’ll be there to silence it for them.

  • Frank and Conyers order ACORN investigation

    The editorial board of the Wall Street Journal write this morning that Barney Franks and John Conyers have directed the Congressional Research Service to look into the ACORN stings – but not how you think.

    Franks actually didn’t vote when Congress voted to defund ACORN last week, apparently avoiding any embarassing entanglements. While Conyers voted for the measure, he later claimed that he did so “accidentally” making me wonder if he even fit to serve in Congress.

    The investigation for which they’ve called isn’t into ACORN, it’s an investigation into the two investigators, mr. O’Keefe and Ms. Giles;

    With respect to the child-prostitution sting, they ask the CRS to look into “conflicting allegations” about “the propriety of these activities”—by which they mean not the advice Acorn gave on getting away with crimes, but “the federal and state laws that could apply to such videotaping and distribution of conversations without the consent of all parties.”

    The Democratic duo also ask CRS whether the legislation defunding Acorn “could constitute an unlawful bill of attainder” by singling out the group—as if the refusal to continue providing federal subsidies is tantamount to punishing it for a crime. Such Constitutional scruples were not evident in March, when the pair joined all but six House Democrats (and 85 Republicans) in voting to impose a 90% tax on executives of AIG and other disfavored corporations.

    That’s what is most important, I suppose – I mean taping someone planning to commit crimes is much more important than the person planning the crimes, isn’t it? Of course, asking Conyers and Franks to recognize illegal activity is like expecting a fish to admit he’s wet.

  • Obama urges Paterson to stop run

    The New York Times wrote yesterday that President Obama is urging David Paterson, the accidental governor of New York, to end his run at the governor’s office next year;

    President Obama has sent a request to Gov. David A. Paterson that he withdraw from the New York governor’s race, fearing that Mr. Paterson cannot recover from his dismal political standing, according to two senior administration officials and a New York Democratic operative with direct knowledge of the situation.

    The decision to ask Mr. Paterson to step aside was proposed by political advisers to Mr. Obama, but approved by the president himself, one of the administration officials said.

    So the Chicago Machine is dipping it’s fingers into New York politics. I mean New York politics isn’t squeaky clean either, but this can’t be good for my home state.

    Coincidentally, a story that that was near this one in my news reader was one about a New York woman who had been kidnapped and faced with certain violent rape, she threw herself from a moving car.

    That reminded me of my situation ten years ago, when after New York elected Chuckie Schumer as their Senator, they began to talk about electing Hillary Clinton as their other Senator in 2000. Faced with imminent violent rape, I threw myself from the moving car.

  • Another birther officer slapped down in court

    Orly Taitz, DDS Esq. is doing her best to surpass James Branum‘s record in court. Ohio judge Clay Land put Ms. DDS Esq. on notice for her antics in court, according to the Ledger-Enquirer;

    Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national “birther” movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever again files in his court a similar “frivolous” lawsuit — a document that at one point the judge states that a middle school student could find irony in.

    “(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States,” Land states in his order. “Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is ‘an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified imposter.’”

    Yeah, this is the second Army officer to get involved in Orly Taitz’ antics – the first being Major Stefan Cook. Of course the judge didn’t just Rhodes off with a warning;

    Land ordered that the defendants — who include Obama, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Col. Thomas MacDonald, Fort Benning garrison commander — will recover any costs from the complaint from Rhodes.

    Rhodes wasn’t being deployed, she just finished medical school that we, the tax payers, funded. Just like Branum is using soldiers at Fort Hood, Orly Taintz is using soldiers to build herself a law career. Proof? She did an interview with Talking Points Memo and she’s willing to watch her client go to jail for Taintz’ antics;

    And if Rhodes is open to continuing the fight, would Taitz go along?

    “Oh absolutely, absolutely,” she said. “Listen, Nelson Mandela stayed in prison for years in order to get to the truth and justice.”

    Sounds just like Branum doesn’t she?

    Other sources say that Taitz was back in court today;

    Attorney Taitz therefore requests the Court to vacate (annul) its Sept. 16th Dismissal against Rhodes, and grant a stay of deployment to Rhodes, pending further hearing of the case.

    Me? I’d just like Army officers to act like Army officers and not allow themselves to be used by fringe cranks.

  • Pelosi on ACORN: Duh?

    So while the team of O’Keefe and Giles unwrap a fifth set of videos on ACORN’s shady advice services at Big Government.com, Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House and second in the line of succession to the Presidency, claims she knows nothing about the story which has been running for a week now, according to the New York Post;

    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she is clueless about an amendment to prohibit government funds for embattled ACORN, although it overwhelmingly passed the Senate Monday and the White House is calling for the group to be held accountable.

    “I don’t even know what they passed,” Pelosi told The Post yesterday. “What did they do? They defunded it?”

    Michelle Malkin writes that even the White House is trying to distance themselves from the embattled organization. Allahpundit writes that the team that will help ACORN investigate itself reads like a Who’s Who of clintonistas – that ought to bring about some real changes.

    In the meantime, Fox News tries to chase down Barack Obama’s Senate replacement, Roland Burris to find out why he voted to support ACORN in the Senate vote the other day.

    Of course, you’ve probably read that the San Bernadino woman, Tresa Kaelke, from ACORN has said she was just playing along with the fake hooker and her pimp. Here’s a question: Why didn’t you come out ahead of the video and announce that? These people must recognize O’Keefe and Giles by now. Any bells going off, or are they just waiting for the hammer to fall blow by blow, as it were?
