According to a link we found at our buddy, Concrete Bob’s United Conservatives of Virginia, the roundest SEAL, Brian Leonard Creekmur, even fooled Soledad O’Brien and CNN with his phony persona (Fox News link);
CNN’s Soledad O’Brien appears to have been one of the many who not only accepted, but promoted Brian Leonard Creekmur’s fake credentials as a Navy SEAL, according to an investigation by WTKR News Channel 3, the local CBS affiliate in the Hampton Roads metro area in Virginia.
Good for her. As long as what they say is more important than who says it, well, that’s all that counts, isn’t it?
Hardly a day goes by that I don’t get a request from Mary at POW Network to check on whether someone who is writing romantic internet notes to women (usually on Facebook) is actually in the Army. Here’s the one she sent last night;
Mark Seymour David

I am also a very good dancer and can dance to most music, including ballroom dancing.

Mark Seymour David

I am looking for a lady who is very strong, but not overbearing and unbendable.our strengths must compliment each others weakness. u must appreciate a man that can cook and clean and that will go out of his way to ensure that you are happy.I will appreciate the tenderness and sensibility of a virtous lady.u must love affection,hugs and kisses and constant expression of love,including mind blowing unforgettable — love sharing! I want to fall in love, and have my heart beat in a rapid fashion with yours.I want it to pound and for the butterflies to make us feel so giddy that we feel like teenagers and that evert moment of the day is filled with excitement and anticipation of when we are able to look into each others eyes again and be consumed with the passion that we both have for each other. Mark Seymour David
oh ok babe hope all is ok I CARE
Mark Seymour David
awwwww babe why do you talk like that you dont believe me ok babe this is my id card ok i hope you believe me now
Here’s the ID card he sent her;

If you look closely behind the picture that was probably taken from a candid shot, you can see there’s another picture beneath it. A sergeant’s pay grade is not O-2, it’s E-5 (duh). Now I’ve never looked at the new ID cards, but I’m pretty sure there’s no “Afghanistan Special Force” ID card. Here’s the gumball’s Facebook page. To ease your mind, I checked AKO and found no “Mark Seymour David”. I did find a Mark David, but no match. And there were a few Mark Seymours, but again no one that would match that name, so I’m not putting someone’s real ID card on the internet.
But like I said, hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t contact Mary, and I only see the Army pretenders.
It’s a jungle out there, ladies.
Yeah, this Kasie Michelle Benson (aka Warr Michelle Bunnyy) who claims to be a Marine is much easier on the eyes than the pirate lesbian, but just as phony. The folks at Scotty’s Hideaway sent her info to us last month and had the foresight to screenshot some of her pictures before she succumbed to the pressure and shut her account down, apparently. But, Mary says that there is no record of her ever serving. I’m pretty sure that her military service isn’t the only thing that’s fake about her, though;

Like I said her Facebook account is shut down, but her Twitter account is still up. And there are more screenshots of what there was at her Facebook at Scotty’s Hideaway.
Yeah, this was a tough one to have to research. I should be getting combat pay for this.
We talked about Anthony Vaderhoof, the homeless SEAL selling trinkets on the streets of Saginaw last month and influenced some reporters to take back their original tear soaked articles about how the VA and the military was mistreating the derelict (previous posts here, here and here). Mary at POW Network came through with his records last night;
Yep, no Vietnam service medals, so it doesn’t look like there’s any time in Vietnam. It looks like he joined after combat troops were withdrawn from Vietnam, anyway. So if he lost his toes, it wasn’t because he stepped on a landmine, not in Vietnam, anyway.
You might remember Mike Wilson from when we discussed him last month. He was a secret squirrel First Lieutenant who looks like he’s about twelve years old. Well, you guys have been picking on him and, gosh darn it, he’s not taking it anymore;

Anyway, Sporkmaster found some conversations from when Wilson sought solace in the arms of Breanna Manning;
(more…)
Mike sends us a link to this story about Brian Leonard Creekmur who began by using his phony SEAL to attract women;
It looks like our buddy, Don Shipley busted this one. According to the newsman, he stolen his story completely from real Master Chief.
The memorabilia at his house in Middlesex County, his frequent Tweets to CNN reporters, his Facebook photos, and military discharge papers, all show a man who fought for the country as part of SEAL Team 2 – and later SEAL Team 6. They show a man who has never run from a confrontation. Until now.
It’s not really a question. I’ve spent a month digging into his claims, and I know it’s him behind the wheel of this pickup truck, no matter how quickly he rolled up the windows. He’s had a lot to say on the Internet about his career as a Navy SEAL sniper, but not much to say about it to me.
He also does what all of our phonies did – closed his Twitter and facebook accounts to avoid answering embarrassing questions. It appears that he spent his time in the Army (6 years) made it to Specialist but was discharged a PFC. The video moved too fast for me to tell what his MOS was, but I’m sure he was almost a SEAL in the Army.
Kristen Moulton of the Salt Lake City Tribune, who wrote the first article that Average NCO sent us, does some research and just published her report of that research;
The record, obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune through a Freedom of Information Act request, shows David Jennings Groves, now 67, entered the Army in Sante Fe, N.M., and spent two years, Dec. 7, 1962 to Dec. 9, 1964 at Fort Bliss in Texas.
Afterward, he briefly was in the Army Reserves and then served in the Army National Guard from Dec. 29, 1964 to Nov. 11, 1996. His highest rank was specialist.
Groves had Army training as an automotive repairman, and received standard commendations for a stateside soldier during the war: a National Defense Service Medal, and a marksman badge with rifle and carbine bars.
Groves, you may recall claimed he was in the 5th Special Forces when he was ambushed, was the sole survivor of his unit, and was imprisoned by the Viet Cong and NVA for six months until he escaped. Of course, he denies that Army records are correct, and, as we mentioned before, he has hired a lawyer. But, what we really need to find out is how he got on the VA’s role of POWs, because you’ll remember we did an investigation last month about the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and their internal review of POWs. They claimed that they discovered only two.
On Groves, the VA won’t tell us how he got on the roles;
The VA refused to answer questions about how the VA comes up with its list of former POWs to invite, how Groves came to be on the list, and whether he will be invited again.
“Privacy laws prevent us from releasing any other information in connection with Mr. Groves,” the VA said in its statement, provided by spokesman James Brown.
Schow said that while his department co-sponsors the luncheon, We have relied on the lists that the federal VA has.”
They say that Groves never applied for benefits, but there must be more out there who have.
Thanks to someone in Utah who dropped the link to the Trib article on our Fan Page.
