  • OFA attacks News Corp

    The political action wing of the White House, Organizing for America, sent out this letter to all of us Obama supporters this morning taking the unprecidented step of attacking an American company for their political donations;

    It’s hillarious that OFA accuses Fox News of merely repeating Republican talking points when most of the alphabets merely mouth the words sent to them by the White House. i wonder what Democrats would have done if the Bush White house had launched a campaign against MSNBC for General Electric’s donations to Democrat candidates.

    of course, news Corp’s donation is the largest of any media organization’s check to political causes…but maybe that’s because News Corp is more successful than any other news organization. Wonder why.

  • The whole Hanson CNN interview

    Blackfive emailed us a video of the the entire interview that Uncle Jimbo did with CNN. Some fuckstick editor thought he could homogenize the essence of the interview out – you can compare the two for your own edification;

    As Jimbo exonerates the US military of any war crimes, CNN conveniently edits his facts out to appease the Wiki-traitors and their supporters.

    Jimbo did a much better job than CNN shows in the video on their website – and praise for Jimbo doesn’t come easy for me (I kid). Hanson states clearly that he doesn’t think Manning should be put to death, and just as clearly lays out the case that there’s nothing that rises to the level of a “war crime” in the documents or the video – a rational and balanced response. But I guess those are things that an editor at CNN wants to avoid presenting to the public. I’m sure they were pretty upset that Hanson didn’t start slinging snot and drool while calling for Manning’s head.

    While we watch videos, poor Blackfive is dealing with emails from the Left in regards to the Wiki-traitors..

  • Brit soldier refused beer

    Ben sent us a link to a story about a British engineer, Anthony Walls, fresh off the plane from Afghanistan, still wearing his uniform, who stopped to buy beer on his way to his nephew’s birthday party;

    But when he arrived at the till to pay he was met with a blank stare from the cashier, who refused to serve him and called for her manager.

    The manager then refused to serve Sapper Walls and told him he “couldn’t do anything about it.”

    I wonder how this story would have been treated if a Muslim had been refused service in a grocery store?

  • Can’t Imagine Why.

    It seems that the reporter that leaked private conversations is wondering why his request to be embedded with Military in Afghanistan was rejected according to Army Times.

    The author of the Rolling Stone article that ended the military career of Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the former top commander in Afghanistan, has been denied permission to join U.S. troops fighting in Afghanistan, the Pentagon said Tuesday.

    Defense Department spokesman Col. David Lapan told reporters that freelance writer Michael Hastings was rebuffed when he asked to accompany, or “embed,” with American forces next month.

    I mean this is a total shock right, I mean posting angry comments about why support has taken over a year to get to Afghanistan and expects to be accepted there again?

    The inspector general is considering whether officers were insubordinate and how far up the chain of command responsibility for decisions involving the Hastings interviews extended, officials said. Defense officials outlined the investigation on condition of anonymity because it is ongoing and has reached no conclusions.

    On a side note we need to make a drinking game that sates that if anyone says “Not authorized to speak to the Press.” or something we drink. Because I see this happen way too much in our and Foreign news.

    Oh the same reporter has a book deal that he s going to talk about him leaking these conversations, I mean why in the world would you not want him back.

    Oh on the subject of Generals and Politics here is one for a good laugh.

    General Pace – you have the power to fulfill your responsibility to protect the troops under your command. Indeed you have an obligation to do so.

    You can relieve the President of his command.

    Not of his Presidency. But of his military role as Commander-In-Chief.

    You simply invoke the Uniform Code Of Military Justice.

    There is only one possible response for something like this.

  • ADL Announces Opposition to Mosque Near Ground Zero

    This admittedly surprised me. The ADL isn’t exactly a red-blooded conservative and while they do criticize some of the opponents of the Mosque for “bigoted” speech, they do use some of the talking points that the conservative blogosphere has been using for awhile in regards to this mosque:

    In recommending that a different location be found for the Islamic Center, we are mindful that some legitimate questions have been raised about who is providing the funding to build it, and what connections, if any, its leaders might have with groups whose ideologies stand in contradiction to our shared values.  These questions deserve a response, and we hope those backing the project will be transparent and forthcoming.  But regardless of how they respond, the issue at stake is a broader one.

    Proponents of the Islamic Center may have every right to build at this site, and may even have chosen the site to send a positive message about Islam.  The bigotry some have expressed in attacking them is unfair, and wrong.  But ultimately this is not a question of rights, but a question of what is right.  In our judgment, building an Islamic Center in the shadow of the World Trade Center will cause some victims more pain – unnecessarily – and that is not right.

    The ADL wouldn’t have waded into this unless they know some real scary people are behind this mosque. I wonder if this will change the narrative of how the MSM has been reporting this story or if the left-wing media will start lumping the

    By the way, if anyone has any video or a statement of Mark Potok or anybody else from the SPLC commenting on or defending the mosque, plus post the link in the comment section.

  • Oh look at the Current Suspect.

    Yep the same guy, Bradley Manning that leaked the video about the 2007 firefight, is one of the main suspects in finding who leaked the new documents to the press.

    The Wall Street Journal reported that military investigators are checking computers used by Manning to see if he is the source of the trove of documents released by WikiLeaks.

    Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell told Fox News the department wants to find out who originally leaked the information to “make sure there’s not any more coming.” He said it remains to be seen whether any action will be taken against those involved in the leak.

    So not only has these additional documents have been leaked there is a possibility that more might be on the way. Great, this is getting better and better. Perhaps we should bring these back again.

    ADDED: Sporkmaster

    Seems that there is more info about him that is coming out.

  • On those new Wikileaks documents

    Sporkmaster scooped me yesterday on the reporting of the new Wikileaks documents. But I think I have a few things to say about it. If you look on the reporting of the documents, anyone who has spent a minute in the military will recognize that it’s all overreaction to absolutely nothing. People die in war normally, don’t they? And that’s what all the reporting boils down to – war is against the good nature of men. Who didn’t know that? Raise your hands…one…two…Two!

    And you know what? We really don’t know what is in the documents because we’re just reading about what the hyper-sensitive media thinks about them. Have the rest of us had the time read through the 91,000 documents yet? Remember the last time we heard from Wikileaks, they said a Hummer was a tank, who knows what the hell they’ll try to get away with this time.

    And, *surprise!*, John Kerry believes the hype without looking at the documents in question;

    Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry, D-Mass., though, suggested the release could lead to a change in policy. He said in a written statement that “however illegally” the documents were released, they raise “serious questions” about U.S. policy toward the region.

    “Those policies are at a critical stage and these documents may very well underscore the stakes and make the calibrations needed to get the policy right more urgent,” he said.

    I remind you that this douchebag would still be President if he’d been elected in 2004.

    So there’s really nothing we didn’t know, minus the hyperventilating media’s description of the contents of the leaked documents. They’ve been waiting for this since April, so I’m sure most of their articles were written long befre they got to glance at the documents.

  • Wikileaks leaks part 2.

    Since it worked out so well the last time, they decided to try it again.

    A huge cache of secret US military files today provides a devastating portrait of the failing war in Afghanistan, revealing how coalition forces have killed hundreds of civilians in unreported incidents, Taliban attacks have soared and Nato commanders fear neighbouring Pakistan and Iran are fuelling the insurgency.

    But given how many things were ignored out of the 2007 video from Iraq, just think of all the possible discrepancies that could be present with 90,000 records? Some of the claims have been as such:

    • How a secret “black” unit of special forces hunts down Taliban leaders for “kill or capture” without trial.

    • How the US covered up evidence that the Taliban have acquired deadly surface-to-air missiles.

    • How the coalition is increasingly using deadly Reaper drones to hunt and kill Taliban targets by remote control from a base in Nevada.

    • How the Taliban have caused growing carnage with a massive escalation of its roadside bombing campaign, which has killed more than 2,000 civilians to date.

    Yea except that if you look at each one there is not much there to see? We uses our troop to capture/kill any enemy leaders that we can. It is not the troops job to take that person to trial. Second the Taliban had Singer Missile launchers for awhile now paired with what weapons were left over during the fight with the Soviet Russia. Third we used them to provide air support and can stay in the air longer then any manned aircraft. Finally do you really think that the Taliban will reduce this if we were to leave?

    Oh this one is a keeper.

    2007 Polish troops mortared a village, killing a wedding party including a pregnant woman, in an apparent revenge attack.

    Apparent? Yea and that almost got three SEALs jail time, Apparent my ass,

    But don’t worry about double checking, Rethink Afghanistan is already running this and it is doing it’s paces around the net. Of course there is no one is even thinking about how this will effect those that are fighting in Afghanistan.

    ADDED Sporkmaster

    The White House has condemned the release stating what we already know.

    “The United States strongly condemns the disclosure of classified information by individuals and organisations which could put the lives of Americans and our partners at risk and threaten our national security,” he said in a statement.
