  • Utah teen brought a bomb to school

    Utah teen brought a bomb to school

    I know this has been all over the internet and the broadcast news programs and you’ve been bombarded every 30 minutes with images of frightened school children fleeing the smoldering bomb. What? You haven’t? Well, here it is now.

    A teen was arrested in Pine View High School in the city of St. George when a bomb in his backpack began smoking. He’s also suspected of raising an ISIS flag at another school. From Associated Press;

    No one was hurt Monday after the backpack was found in a common area of the school by a student who reported it to a teacher.

    The boy was arrested and booked into a detention center on charges of manufacture, possession, sale, use or attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, St. George police said in a statement.

    No one was hurt, no damage was reported and the school reopened Tuesday morning for classes. Police did not describe the homemade bomb in detail but said it “had the potential to cause significant injury or death.”

    “Based on our investigation we can confirm this was a failed attempt to detonate a homemade explosive at the school. It was also determined that the male had been researching information and expressing interest in ISIS and promoting the organization,” police said.

    So why isn’t the story more popular? Well, there’s no blood, so the media doesn’t care and it doesn’t involve firearms, bombs are boring, especially when they fizzle and don’t kill and maim. No crying white mothers.

    If the little terrorist MFer had only used a gun, especially a black, scary-looking gun with lots of accessory rails and a bayonet lug.

    A bomb only highlights the fact that it’s people not guns that are a danger to kids in schools – can’t put that on the news.

  • Trump did not make it easier for the mentally ill to buy guns

    Since the tragic shooting in Florida this last week, the meia has been engaged in a misinformation campaign charging that teh President made it easier for the mentally ill to buy guns, you know, after the God of Light Obama made it harder.

    The rule that Obama’s Social Security Administration wrote didn’t take affect until December 19, 2017. Not only did the NRA oppose the rule, so did the ACLU on 4th Amendment concerns.

    The rule required that a targeted individual defend himself in court under duress from the government in order to keep a constitutionally-protected right. If he didn’t, he’d automatically lose his right to own a gun.

    And, oh, by the way, Congress did the same thing for the Department of Veterans Affairs;

    The second measure — which passed 240-175 — would prohibit VA officials from submitting records of veterans with severe mental illnesses to the federal criminal background check system, thereby preventing them from purchasing firearms. Exceptions would be made for court orders mandating the conditions be reported.

    Yeah, it wasn’t just “veterans with severe mental illnesses”, it was just whoever the VA bureaucrats decided should be on NICS, for even the fact that they needed someone else to keep watch over their money.

    I’m sure the media wouldn’t want to prove their sanity before they were allowed to exercise their First Amendment rights although some of them should.

  • “Shitholes” and stuff

    “Shitholes” and stuff

    Yesterday, the Washington Post (Huffington Post link because I ended my subscription to the Washington Post because I disagree with their editorial policy – the Huffington Post doesn’t require a subscription) claimed that President Trump referred to migration to the Untied States from “shitholes” in Haiti, El Salvador and Africa. The President denies that he said that, but that doesn’t matter in the world of journalism these days. The Washington Post’s anonymous sources (who, by the way, weren’t at the meeting when the comment was supposedly made) are news.

    A number of people came out and called Trump’s characterization, whether he said it or not, insulting to immigrants. Well, that’s just ridiculous – he didn’t call immigrants shitholes, he called the countries they come from “shitholes” – maybe. The immigrants from those countries would have to agree – why else would they be immigrants?

    It’s funny that Haiti’s ambassador to the US took offense;

    Yeah, well, if you don’t like being called a shithole, stop being a shithole.

    When the US left Panama at the turn of the century, they quickly descended into shithole-level poverty. Within a few years, they got tired of it and began digging themselves out of “shitholiness” and voila.

    They modernized the Panama Canal, making it wider for modern ship traffic and they began working on their automobile traffic congestion.

    Other countries like El Salvador and Haiti send their people to the US instead of doing the hard work to rebuild their countries’ infrastructure and economies. Their idea of an economy is to live off of the cash those immigrants send home in remissions.

    El Salvador’s embassy estimates that 500,000 Salvadorans live in the Metro DC area – El Salvador’s population is 5 million people – so 10% of El Salvador’s population live in the DC Metro area. It seems to me that many people would be a benefit to the country’s improvement – especially after they experienced life in the US.

  • ABC News’ fake news

    Yesterday morning, according to CNN Money, ABC News investigative reporter Brian Ross reported that an unnamed single source told him that Michael Flynn was going to testify that candidate-Trump asked him to make contact with Russians before the election last year. Before last night’s evening news broadcast, ABC News had retracted the story. This appeared on the text story and on Twitter;

    The story was altered to read that Trump had asked Flynn to make contact with the Russians AFTER he had won the election.

    Meanwhile, before the correction;

    A tweet published by ABC News containing Ross’ initial report had been retweeted more than 25,000 times and embedded in various news stories online before it was deleted. ABC posted a “clarification” on Twitter around 8 p.m.

    And they wonder why Trump calls them “fake news”.

  • Washington Post fear mongering

    Washington Post fear mongering

    See the scary headline of the Washington Post article; FBI investigating 1,000 white supremacist, domestic terrorism cases. Yikes! 1000 white supremacists case is scary!!!!. Except in the very first line of the article, Devlin Barrett, explains;

    The FBI is conducting about 1,000 investigations of suspected white supremacists or other types of domestic terrorists who might be planning violence, top federal officials told Senate lawmakers Wednesday.

    Emphasis is mine. For the casual reader, the “other types of domestic terrorists” part escapes their attention. The Post helpfully explains their own definition of “domestic terrorism”;

    Christopher A. Wray, in his first congressional testimony as FBI director, confirmed that his office has about 1,000 inquiries that people generally categorize as “domestic terrorism’’ — a catchall term often used to describe those motivated to commit violence in furtherance of racist causes.

    So they consider all domestic terrorism to be white racists;

    FBI officials have previously said they had about 1,000 ongoing investigations in the United States of suspects who may be inspired by the Islamic State terrorist group to commit violence.

    Wednesday’s hearing was the first public indication that the FBI is dealing with a similar number of domestic terrorism cases.

    Terrorism inspired by ISIS by people who are living in the US are also domestic terrorists, you imbecile.

    This is nothing but fear-mongering from the Post and Devlin Barrett – white supremacists are so few in number, I’m sure they are outnumbered by ISIS adherents. I doubt there are even 1000 white supremacists in the entire country, let alone 1000 for the FBI to investigate. I’m sure that there are Anti-Fa, Black Nationalists and ISIS adherents in those 1000 cases.

    I hope the FBI is investigating white nationalists groups that are planning domestic acts of terror, but I would also hope that the Washington Post would report the entire truth occasionally.

  • Travis Frink; PTSD made him murder his mother

    Travis Frink; PTSD made him murder his mother

    The other day, Travis Frink calmly walked into the hospital room where his mother was being treated for an aneurysm, fired a handgun three times into the woman and, just as calmly left the room.

    Well, his stepfather, Bob Ferriere, blames the PTSD that Frink caught while he was in the Marines, according to the Valley News.

    “As long as he was taking his medicine for PTSD, he was all right. When he got off the medicine, he would go wacko,” Ferriere said in a phone interview. “He beat people up. He would threaten people. He got locked up. He lost his job three or four times because he wouldn’t take his medicine.”

    That’s odd, because thousands of Marines who suffer the effects of PTSD didn’t kill anyone, or “go whacko” this week, or the week and months before Tuesday.

    “No one in this God-given world knows why he did it. I can’t tell you why he did it,” Bob Ferriere said, adding the only possibility was the PTSD, based on his past behavior.

    Ferriere said he believes Frink suffered from PTSD from his time in the Marines and had a traumatic brain injury. But he didn’t know when he served nor how he might have gotten injured. He also did not say what medications Frink was taking.

    “He had 10 years of fighting PTSD,” Ferriere said. “When he didn’t take his medicine, he went berserk.”

    A spokesman for the U.S. Marines did not respond to a request to confirm Frink’s military service or his injuries.

    Step-Dad, obviously a trained clinician familiar with PTSD, “believes” that Frink suffers from PTSD, but he doesn’t know when the guy served or how he caught the disorder. He’s convinced that medication corrects Frink’s PTSD, but he doesn’t know what this magic drug is called – despite the fact that this supposed disorder affects the entire family. I’m thinking that he was messed up before he joined the Marines, if he even was a Marine, and came out the same way.

    The Marines just provide an easy-to-understand cause for the media – the same media that runs with the story before they can even verify it with the Marine Corps.

    Thanks to H1 for the link.

  • Media criticizes Mattis for sailor talk

    Media criticizes Mattis for sailor talk

    The other day, Secretary of Defense James Mattis gave a pep talk to sailors at Naval Base Kitsap, Washington. He encouraged them to stay in the Navy, and he told them;

    So thanks for sticking with the Navy. For those on your first — (inaudible) — you can get out the Navy after — (inaudible). You’ll still miss it. You’ll miss it like the dickens, and you’ll be changed for the better for the rest of your life. So you’ll never regret, but you will have some of the best days of your life and some of the worst days of your life in the U.S. Navy, you know what I mean?

    That says — that means you’re living. That means you’re living.

    That means you’re not some pussy sitting on the sidelines, you know what I mean, kind of sitting there saying, “Well, I should have done something with my life.” Because of what you’re doing now, you’re not going to be laying on a shrink’s couch when you’re 45 years old, say “What the hell did I do with my life?” Why? Because you served others; you served something bigger than you.

    So, of course, the pussies started whining. NBC News called it a “disparaging term”;

    Mattis wouldn’t be the first member of the executive branch to make vulgar comments. Trump used the same obscenity in a 2005 conversation that was caught on tape and unearthed in October.

    The Washington Post‘s Dan Lamothe calls him “vulgar”;

    Channeling salty icons like Army Gen. George S. Patton “has its place,” but the term Mattis used “clearly implied that those who don’t serve are less manly than those who do,” [retired Col. Don Christensen] said.

    From NBCNewYork;

    Defense Secretary James Mattis praised Navy sailors for their service earlier this month and used an obscenity to make his point….

    The Free Beacon notes other pussies, I mean media, who took offense;

    Newsweek likewise complained that “Defense Secretary Suggests Civilians Are ‘Pussies’ for Sitting on the Sidelines.”

    “Donald Trump’s secretary of defense James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis appeared to suggest those who did not serve the country were ‘a bunch of pussies,’” read the lede.

    Yeah, well, if the shoe fits….

    He’s the Secretary of Defense, not the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

  • If You Want to See A Real Liberal Jerk in Action . . . (Part 2)

    Well, here ya go.  Different kind from that highlighted Poetrooper’s last article on the same subject, though.

    This one’s a CNN host – Fareed Zakaria.  Yeah, I know: that’s a “shocker”. (smile)

    Here’s the money quote from a recent interview (emphasis added):

    “The election of Donald Trump is really a kind of class rebellion against people like us, educated professionals who live in cities, who have cosmopolitan views about things.”

    In short:  according to      “Progressive” tools      those highly educated,      Metrosexual Euroweenie      “cosmopolitan” types like Lord Fareed here, anyone from the      peasant      working class – or who otherwise doesn’t agree with him – should just shut up and color.  Obviously, they should let their “betters” (AKA the     Socialist      “Progressive elite”) run the show.

    Oh, and later in the interview he plays the “racism” card, too. What a surprise.

    Sheesh. And his ilk claims that his side represents the interests of the “Little Guy”? That’s like an English Lord from the 1400s claiming he understands the peasants’ concerns and issues – when in reality he doesn’t give a damn about what happens to them at all, so long as he’s safe and comfortable in his Manor House.

    Yo, Zakaria:  did you ever think that maybe 8 years of failed      Socialism      Progressive policy under the previous SCoaMF – which Clintoon sought to continue – might have had something to do with Trump’s election? Along with the fact that Clintoon was one of the most personally disagreeable and seemingly financially corrupt Presidential candidates in history?

    Both Fox News and the Washington Free Beacon have short articles giving a few more quotes from Lord Foot-in-mouth here.  They’re worth a read.

    Sheesh.  What a freaking arrogant, elitist ass.
