  • Walter Reed to name clinic for John Murtha

    Our buddy, Coby Dillard, sends us a link to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report that the folks at Walter Reed Military Medical Center are planning on naming their cancer clinic for backstabbing, lying, cheating, ex-Marine John Murtha;

    “It’s a very fitting tribute to my husband because he cared so much about the troops and making sure they were taken care of. I’m delighted, ” said Joyce Murtha, whose husband served in Congress from 1974 until his death in February 2010. For much of that time, the former Marine either chaired or was the ranking member of the House panel that oversaw defense spending. He is the longest-serving congressman in Pennsylvania history.

    Yeah, I’d expect his widow to have nothing but good stuff to say about her dead husband, but his illegal and immoral activities are well-known through-out DC circles. If any one person is responsible for the war against terror, it’s Murtha, since he convinced President Clinton to withdraw prematurely from Somalia and he did his best to undermine efforts of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    What I don’t understand is that Murtha is dead now, naming the clinic for him will get the clinic no tangible benefit so why stick their finger in our eye like that? I hope they put up a sign to remind the Marines who are treated at the clinic that John P. Murtha called them “cold blooded killers”.

  • Marines who lied in Haditha investigation to be dismissed

    The Associated Press in the Stars & Stripes reports that the Navy will dismiss two Marines who cut a deal with prosecutors to testify against their squad mates in the Haditha case;

    The Marine Corps dropped criminal charges against both men – Sgt. Sanick Dela Cruz and Sgt. Humberto Mendoza – in exchange for their testimony at the trial of former Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, the squad leader. Wuterich was the lone Marine convicted in the shooting of unarmed Iraqis in the town of Haditha after a roadside bomb exploded, killing one Marine and wounding two others.

    The Navy ought to take a look at the prosecutors, too, and see if there were any connections to a certain deceased bag of shit congressman. Or any political pressure from anyone who sought to make this their standard for the war against terror and the troops fighting that war. And while they’re at it, try to figure why Ray Mabus would name a ship after a certain bag of shit congressman who tried to tear asunder his own service.

    I’m pretty sure there are a lot hands to chop off in this incident and blaming a couple of buck sergeants won’t solve the problem.

  • When death is better than living

    TSO sends us a link to an article in Roll Call that is largely going unreported in the media about how the Justice Department and the FBI were investigating John Murtha for his “play for pay” antics in Western Pennsylvania,

    Bits and pieces of this story were kicked around for years before Murtha died in February 2010. The Los Angeles Times, Roll Call, the Washington Post and others had documented the odd appearance of earmarks for tiny defense contractors that just happened to open an office in western Pennsylvania and just happened to hire one of the lobbying firms close to Murtha and just happened to begin making campaign donations to Murtha and other Members of Congress close to him.

    Of course, Democrats covered up Murtha’s antics for decades, mostly because of his willingness to be anti-war and vocal about it. Just like IVAW, they could stand up veteran Murtha as their poster child for every anti-war theatrics. We can blame Murtha for the current war and the casualties because he advised President Clinton to withdraw from Somalia and gave hope to every jihadist on the planet that tehy could just kill masses of American soldiers until we lost our nerve to fight them.

    We can’t forget that Saddam hussein gave DVDs of “Blackhawk Down” to his commanders as an instructional video on how to fight Americans.

    And Murtha was willing to say the things that other Democrats thought but couldn’t say outloud, like when he accused the Marines involved in the Hadditha incident of being murderers, and when he told the press that American troops were demoralized and incapable of fighting.

    TAH has a history of resisting Murtha even before our first post;

  • No Title, No Words… Just Outrage (Updated)

    Since I got Larry Bailey’s email I’ve been struggling to rationalize this evil? Sometimes it is hard.

    Concrete Bob did it for me.

    Last Wednesday, in Texarkana TX, some lowlife scumsucking asswipe murdered a good friend of mine and both of her children. Then the lowlife scumsucking asswipe set fire to her house to cover up the act.

    Amanda Prewett Doss was the most incredible person I’ve ever worked with. I met her in 2006 at the Veterans for the Truth/BootMurtha Rally in Johnstown PA. We immediately became friends. She was a tireless advocate for veterans, POW/MIA issues and she absolutely hated Murtha and Kerry, which immediately earned her a place in my heart. She was beautiful physically and mentally. She believed in what she did.

    She was a Soldiers Angel before the concept was ever thought of. Her support for Viet Nam veterans and the issues those veterans dealt with is legndary in our circles.

    I had the privilege of spending time with her, but, sadly, I didn’t stay in regular contact.

    An Angel indeed, thanks Bob.

    Update:  SKK is on this. As is Blackfive in the person of Laughing_Wolf.

  • Murtha’s superlobbyist pleads guilty

    Paul Magliocchetti pleaded guilty yesterday to funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions through straw donors to members of Congress for his clients in the defense industry.

    The three main recipients of these ill-spent money were John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania, James P. Moran of Virginia and Peter J. Visclosky of Indiana. The Associated Press story mentions that they’re all three Democrats.

    Magliocchetti admitted using straw donors — friends, lobbyists and family members, including his aged in-laws — to funnel $386,250 in illegal contributions to favored members of Congress including key members of the House appropriations defense subcommittee who provided hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks for the clients of his now defunct Arlington lobbying firm, The PMA Group.

    Maybe we can dig up Murtha’s rotting carcass from Arlington and move it to a Federal pen.

  • FBI continues to beat dead horse-sized object

    For those of us who were disappointed that John Murtha escaped punishment by inconveniently dying during the FBI’s investigation of his shenanigans while a Pennsylvania congressman, the Washington Times reports that they are still digging into Murtha’s antics;

    The FBI released hundreds of pages of documents concerning Murtha on Tuesday in response to open records requests, but kept sealed most of its files on the corruption probe that had dogged Murtha until his death.

    “As this investigative file is still in ‘pending status,’ the bulk of the file’s FBI documents are not releasable until the conclusion of the investigation,” the FBI said in releasing the documents on its website.

    Murtha’s name had surfaced repeatedly in connection with the ongoing federal probe into defense contractors who gave him and other members of Congress campaign donations.

    I suspect the FBI has been instructed to keep the records sealed to protect former Murtha staffer Mark Critz, who just won a special election last week to fill Murtha’s ample seat.

  • Speaking of Murtha’s seat

    Since I live in the Johnstown area these days, I get to watch the battle for the Congressional seat recently vacated by the late John Murtha. Of course Murtha’s choice for the seat is his former staffer, Mark Critz. Critz runs from behind Murtha’s bloated corpse;

    Even though he’s not a veteran himself, Critz claims to be the veterans’ candidate because he won the endorsement of an organization named “Veterans & Military Families for Progress“. They claim to be a non-partisan organization, but a peek at their staff reveals a solid Blue line through their leadership.

    Their president/Media Director, Tom Howe was the Iowa chair of the Democratic Veterans’ Caucus Platform Committee. Executive VP Jan Donatelli was recognized at the 2009 AFL-CIO Convention as a “Hero of the Labor Political Movement.” Administrative VP Jim Van Doren maintained the Oregon Veterans for Kerry website, and more recently was active in the Veterans for Obama movement. So there’s really nothing “non-partisan” about them. A veterans issue organization that supported Obama in his run against John McCain. I’d like to see how they justify that bit of hypocrisy. Oh, wait, here’s their statement on the endorsement;

    As the grandson of a veteran of World War II, his appreciation of veterans’ issues is underscored not by words but by actions. He serves on the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, has shown leadership by introducing several non-partisan bills, some of which have been enacted into law, for the benefit of veterans. He shares the values of our military forces, and fights to ensure our forces are well-rested and properly equipped. Of particular interest to VMFP, Senator Obama shows superior support for veterans’ “coming home” issues such as accessible physical and mental health care, expanded educational benefits and job opportunities, and reduction of homelessness and suicide within the ranks of America’s veterans.

    If you scroll down their “Current Events” page, you’ll notice they get part of their money from SEIU – the purple-shirted thugs of Service Employees International Union which has caused so much trouble at Tea Party Rallies and has close ties to ACORN.

    Critz claims he will “will put veterans first”, but his ties to Veterans & Military Families for Progress tell a different story.

  • Murtha floats

    Ponsdorf and 1stCavRVN11B have been sending me articles on the Navy’s proposed plan to name a ship after the ample, rotting carcass of John P. Murtha. It seems impossible, doesn’t it? But nonetheless it’s true. So many good troops have lost their lives in service to this country in the last few years who actually deserve the honor, it’s almost disrespectful and disgraceful to roll this fat turd to the front of the line.

    The Washington Times editorial board writes, quoting our friend CDR Salamander;

    “This dishonors every Marine who will serve aboard that ship,” a Navy officer told The Washington Times. “And it sends a poor message to the acquisition community that politicians can have ships named after them just for sending pork back to their districts.” Milblogger “CDR Salamander,” who served in the Navy for 21 years, told us this was “a naked political move” and “nothing about this man will be inspiring to the crew assigned to the ship.”

    Of course, we expect nothing less from our newly politicized military which exists to fly the speaker of the house to campaign in her district.

    The Times continues with some possible nicknames for the ship;

    It’s doubtful that the ship naming will do much to honor Murtha. The brave Marines and sailors who serve aboard this vessel probably will refer to it only as LPD 26 or come up with a colorful nickname like “Porky Pig” or the “Fat Bastard” (the Marine favorite). Perhaps Murtha could still be useful in supplying the ship’s slogan: “Cold Blooded Killers.”

    I kind of like “bloated rotting corpse” myself. I’m sure Murtha would agree.
