  • Johnny

    (With apologies to Mr. Kipling and the British Army)

    Johnny went public with ‘is boasts, an’ ‘ero without fear,
    “Til sudden like the Swifties say, “We got a turncoat ‘ere.”
    The Libs they just ignored ’em, sayin’ “Ah, it’s all a lie!”
    Then Johnny’s outted by their ads an’ to myself says I:

    Oh it’s Johnny this an’ Johnny that, ‘e’s the ‘ero of the day.
    But it’s wait now, Mr. Kerry, what’s that record really say?
    The horns are loudly blowin’ boys as our band begins to play,
    An’ it’s goodbye, Mr. Kerry, as they blow your arse away.

    Johnny goes to Cincinnati sober as a man can be,
    An’ they give ol’ George a “Bravo Lad!” but John no sympathy.
    They give ‘im plain their message, sittin’ silent in the ‘alls,
    That when it comes to fightin’ men, they know oo’s got the balls.

    For it’s Johnny this an’ Johnny that, but wait, he might ‘a lied
    From the platform of his campaign train an’ on the Boston tide.
    His ship is on the tide, my boys, his ship is on the tide,
    An’ it’s plain as day she’s sinkin’ boys, because the turncoat lied.

    Yes Johnny mocked our uniforms that guard you while you sleep.
    He cheapened all our medals throwing his upon that heap;
    An’ rustlin’ up his phony troops, he led them for a bit,
    Until his aspirations and theirs no longer fit.

    Now it’s Johnny this an’ Johnny that, an’ Johnny how’s yer soul,
    In that brave front rank of ‘eroes as our drums begin their roll?
    The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
    An’ they’ll keep right on a rollin’ boys, ’til we chuck ‘im in the hole.

    We make no claim as ‘eroes, nor we aren’t no blackguards too,
    But ‘onorable men an’ warriors fightin’ once agin for you.
    An’ if your ‘ero’s record, our charges soundly taint,
    That’s what we’re tryin’ to tell you blokes, your ‘ero ain’t no saint.

    For it’s Johnny this an’ Johnny that, an’ “Check him out, the Loot!”
    Was ‘e the “Savior of ‘is country” when the guns begin to shoot?
    Now it’s Johnny’s turn to prove us wrong, an’ make us all out liars,
    By signin’ that one eighty form an’ puttin out the fires.

    Oh it’s Johnny this an’ Johnny that, ‘e’s the ‘ero of the day,
    But it’s hold on, Mr. Kerry, what’s that record really say?
    The horns are loudly blowin’ boys, as our band begins to play,
    “Cheerio, Old Man,” to Johnny and blows his arse away.

  • Nothing New Here – John Kerry is STILL a Traitor

    Midst the fallout from our last Presidential election it IS a bit hard to single out one particular thing that is especially grievous, but…

    Let me allow my friend (a retired Army Colonel) to help (via email):

    For a man to dishonor, lie, invent fabrications, purposefully and falsely accuse Viet Nam warriors of the most vile and vicious atrocities, should result by any humanitarian standard in incarceration with prejudice.  My heart weeps, my soul cries out for justice, my mind tells this cannot be happening in America…what have we become?
    John Kerry, a war criminal just a few days away from a congressional hearing and vote that could confirm his as Secretary of State…a man with the character of a rat, snake, roach, gaining through perjured testimony he gave Congress forty years ago is now deemed worthy of honor…a thought that has me shaking between weeping and puking…
    Our friend, Captain Bailey, is of a similar mind and sent this along:

    Sad.

  • John Kerry; we all know one

    john_kerry_arrested

    The veteran community is gearing up for opposition to the appointment of John Kerry as our Secretary of State, mostly because we all knew someone like him when we were in the service. The same reason we generally opposed his candidacy for president in 2004. I was at the protest in Senate Park that autumn day eight years ago where even some of our Vietnamese citizens showed up to protest the possibility of a President Kerry.

    We all knew someone who went to our wars for the glory, we all knew someone who was a “know-it-all”. There was always a guy who thought he knew better than the rest of us, someone we’d fully expect to show up at a Senate hearing to tell Congress what a bunch of meanies and morons we were. Like Kerry famously did in 1971. We all know guys who would count a minor injury as a Purple Heart injury. There’s one in every crowd. But of course, Kerry’s worst behavior came after he left active service, but he used the valor that he stole in combat to mitigate his bad behavior after active service.

    John Perazzo at Front Page Mag writes about John Kerry after his service;

    The historical record informs us that not only has John Kerry been on the wrong side of every major foreign policy issue for most of his adult life, including Iraq, Nicaragua and most recently in Syria, but he has routinely engaged in deception to conceal his folly. What’s worse, Kerry has a clear record of giving aid and comfort to America’s enemies, all the while never missing an opportunity to viciously trash our brave forces fighting against them.

    With Obama’s nomination of Kerry to head the State Department, therefore, a look back at Kerry’s “service” to this country becomes more pertinent than ever:

    After being discharged from the Navy in early 1970, Kerry joined Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) and became a major figure in the so-called “peace” movement, whose hallmarks were a deep wellspring of hatred for the United States coupled with sympathy for America’s Communist enemy. In May 1970, Kerry, without government authorization, met personally with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong delegations in Paris to discuss a list of “peace” proposals enumerated by Nguyen Thi Madame Binh, the top Viet Cong delegate to the Paris Peace talks. In the aftermath of that illegal meeting, Kerry strongly advised the U.S. Senate to accept Binh’s proposals.

    At that time, Kerry himself acknowledged that his visit to Paris was “on the borderline” of legality. Actually, it extended far beyond that “borderline.” A federal law known as the Uniform Code of Military Justice prescribed severe punishment (including, in some cases, the death penalty) for any person who “without proper authority, knowingly harbors or protects or gives intelligence to or communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly.”

    John Kerry wasn’t an honorable service member, and then he compounded his dishonorable behavior after his brief time in Vietnam using that time in Vietnam as some sort of insulation against criticism. And, ya know, the civilians that support him aren’t as familiar with his behavior in combat as we veterans – another example of the gulf between those who serve and those who can’t be bothered with military service.

    Yeah, I know that Democrats would like to say we oppose Kerry because of the party thing, but if there was a Republican who behaved as Kerry did during and after his time in Vietnam, I don’t think I’d support him either. Well, I openly opposed Adam Kokesh who ran as a Republican in New Mexico, so I guess that’s proof.

  • Can Kerry Unite Us?

    Two things prompted this missive.  Of course Jonn’s post where I made a comment that said in part –  Back in ’04 Kerry managed to bring disparate groups out of the woodwork to unify in condemning his Presidential run. And a reply to that comment from Nik – That’s a good sign, right? He can get people to work together who might not have otherwise.

    I doubt you can find ANY MilBlog that is thrilled with the notion of Kerry as SECDEF, that isn’t what I’m trying to address here.

    “Swiftboating” entered our vocabulary in ’04 following the Kerry Lied Rally in DC.  The MSM used it as pejorative while some embraced the term.

    Thing is that Kerry’s effort was stopped then.

    The fact of Kerry’s ascension to public consideration for ANY office higher than those in Massachusetts keep re-electing him for  could/would/should bring the old Kerry Lied crew back together.

    Will this particular resurrection of Kerry be enough to stir up that which needs to be stirred up?

    Aside: I am genuinely curious.  That Kerry’s name even CAN be mentioned for a cabinet post has me befuddled. I do hope there is a bright side.

  • Famous Democrat War Hero Attacks Fellow Warriors…Again

    John Kerry is up to his old tricks, doing what he’s done all his sorry, sleazy Democrat life, attempting to discredit American warriors. This time around, John Fraud Kerry is smearing our special operations forces on behalf of probably the only man alive who is a more deplorable commander-in-chief than Kerry himself would have been. Kerry missed that opportunity because of the courage of the men he served with in Vietnam, officers and enlisted, who stood shoulder-to-shoulder and denounced him as unfit to command. They so thoroughly torpedoed the political scow Kerry was trying to sail up the Potomac that they have entered the political lexicon in the form of the term swiftboating, a pejorative to the left and a term describing distinctly courageous and honorable behavior to those on the right.

    The lapdog media always claimed that Kerry was smeared because the SBV campaign supposedly spread vicious lies about his service. Hiding behind the media, Kerry swore he would release his complete military records, proving the Swiftees to be liars and then would sue them for libel, slander, defamation etc, etc. Funny thing about those records and that suing business: he never did sign the Form 180 to release his records nor did he sue the Swift Boat Veterans, did he? And why do you suppose that is? The man was denied the highest political position in the world, supposedly by defamatory lies, and yet he neither provided proof of those lies nor did he sue the miscreants who so horribly damaged his political career and all the future enrichments that promised. Those are quite fertile grounds for a major damages suit. But, ask any lawyer you know why Kerry didn’t sue and you’ll find out that the most obvious reason is that a rock-solid defense against libel, slander and defamation is purely and simply the TRUTH.
    Kerry dropped all the phony protestations and promises of lawsuits and slunk back into the Democrats’ crowded-to-overflowing ethical swamp as soon as the media lost interest. For a man who had been denied so much greatness because of these supposed liars, it was an extremely, tuck-tailed, timid exit. How many Americans, having been so grievously injured by such cruel and evil liars, would have sued to redress their damages? I’ll tell you how many: None, nada, zero, zip; just as soon as they consulted with a lawyer and he explained the unkind truth about the TRUTH and the legal protections it affords those defendants who happen to be telling that truth. Think for a moment of the wealth, fame and acclaim that would accrue to any attorney who took Kerry’s case and prevailed against those evil Swiftees. The media would have had a slobbering wonderful time demonizing those traitorous sailors in very public virtual hangings and would have rejoiced orgasmically at every guilty verdict.

    But none of that happened did it? No prominent lawyer stepped up to defend John Kerry’s besmirched honor and the media went back to normal whimpering. Reason for that, folks: the TRUTH.

    There is an additional corollary to Kerry’s quick folding of the litigational tent: The 2004 campaign generated new interest in an old claim that Kerry had been less than honorably discharged for his near-traitorous treating with the North Vietnamese enemy in Paris. There were claims during the campaign that Jimmy Carter, as a part of his amnesty for Vietnam era draft dodgers, had Kerry’s discharge status converted to honorable. That was never more than speculation but it could have been a very embarrassing revelation were it to be proved true in any legal discovery associated with any Kerry-instituted lawsuits. but, again, we’re talking about the TRUTH, aren’t we?

    So we have John Kerry reporting for duty again, stepping forward, with his military armor and credentials even more tarnished than when he reported in 2004. Kerry should think twice before he gets too involved in this current battle between Obama and the military. This time the dissident warriors aren’t all old men as were the Swiftees. Kerry and Obama are taking on the special operations community, both active and past service, a bunch of really tough guys who do not take it lightly when their professional reputations are trashed to promote the political reputations of Democrats who never served. There is probably no more formidable community in the world nor is there a military entity more worthy of the admiration of the American people. These people truly are the tip of America’s military spear. It is doubtful that a limited-experienced, foolish Democrat politician, like Barack Obama, has any idea of just how sharp the tip of that spear can be, until it pierces his political jugular and bleeds him out…as John Kerry should have learned by now.

    Who’s up next to attack these warriors on Obama’s behalf, Senator Blumenthal?

    Postscript:
    Truth be told, ol’ Poetrooper owes his very existence as a writer to the Swift Boat Veterans. I hadn’t written anything but business reports in the thirty years since I’d left college until John Kerry raised his big ugly head in the 2004 campaign. I was one of those Vietnam vets who despised Kerry for his lies about us, but figured as long as the morons in Massachusetts wanted him to represent them, that was their right. But when it suddenly became clear there were enough morons in this country to make this phony bastard the CinC, I realized I had to do something.

    I heard about the SBV guys shortly before their first press conference and knew that the media would either ignore or crucify these guys, which of course turned out to be right on both counts. I began writing on their behalf and their webmaster and media guy, Scott Swett, welcomed me and posted my pieces. I am very proud that Scott included snippets of my poems in his post election book, To Set the Record Straight, an accounting of “How Swift Boat Veterans, POW’s and the New Media Defeated John Kerry.”

    I am equally proud of the fact that Wey Symmes, treasurer for the Swift Boat Veterans organization, included my post-election, laudatory poem to those brave warriors, The Last Battle of Vietnam, in his own book, This is Latch, about Rear Admiral Roy Hoffmann, leader of the group, both in Vietnam and the 2004 campaign. Here’s that poem:

  • John Kerry on “Swiftboating” Obama

    From our buddy, Gateway Pundit comes the news that John Kerry took to the internet to defend President Obama from what he calls “Swiftboating”. Well, actually, he didn’t defend the President, all he did was try to make us feel sorry for him that the truth about his service was made public. From Democrats.org;

    Seeing the new outrageous attacks made against President Obama from a shadowy Republican-allied veterans group called OPSEC, which take issue with the mission to kill Osama bin Laden, remind me all too well of the notorious “Swift Boat” attacks I faced in the 2004 campaign. I honor and appreciate the service of my fellow veterans, but a false attack is a false attack—no matter who’s making it. It’s not enough to wish them away or dismiss them because they come in part from “birthers” who still won’t concede that President Obama was born here in the United States.>

    Yeah, former presidential candidate John Kerry, if the claims against you were false, why haven’t you signed your SF 180 yet? He said he would during the campaign, but here we are eight years later, and nothing has changed.

    Kerry continues;

    Faced with all this, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Romney and his allies are resorting to the same national security smear tactics I faced in 2004.

    Smear tactics? Really? All I needed to see was the short clip of John Kerry on patrol by himself in Vietnam to know the rest of his stories were false. Who does that? And the fact that he left Vietnam, left his troops behind as soon as he had his three Purple Hearts. What real leader does that – irrespective of how he was awarded the Purple Hearts.

    And, oh, since “swiftboating” means bringing a phony’s true military record to light, how can Obama be “swiftboated” when he has no military record to bring to light?

  • America, We Ducked a Bullet…

    Man, did America ever duck a bullet in the presidential election of 2004; and for that she should forever be grateful to a brave bunch of sailors, a group of veterans of Vietnam known as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Not only did their intercession into the 2004 presidential election campaign prevent a scumbag like John Kerry from being elected president but they also kept his vice-presidential candidate, John Edwards, an even dirtier dirt bag than Kerry, if that is at all possible, from ascending to within a heartbeat of the American presidency.

    Kerry was a traitor; about that there is no question. As a reserve naval officer, he traveled to Paris and engaged in negotiations with representatives of the communist government of North Vietnam while his country was at war with that government. That is unequivocally an act for which a normal American citizen can be tried for treason and executed, but most especially a uniformed, commissioned officer of the United States military. That he was not so dealt with because powerful Democrats covered for him, will forever be a chicken bone in the throats of all those Americans who served honorably in the Vietnam War. It would probably be a tossup as to who is the most hated American figure of that war, John Kerry or Jane Fonda.

    So it should come as no surprise that a sleazy self-awarder/awardee of multiple unearned and undeserved Purple Hearts would select as his running-mate an equally squalid trial lawyer, who as we are now finding out, may just actually surpass his mentor when it comes to being a pure old, down and dirty, no-good, rotten son-of-a-bitch. I imagine that as greatness supposedly recognizes greatness, sleaze also recognizes sleaze. Do you suppose that John Kerry, accepting the likelihood that some Vietnam veteran patriot would not allow him to survive through his first term, wanted to inflict on America someone as equally, or perhaps even more, despicable than himself?

    As we’re now finding, thanks to almost daily revelations of John Edward’s loathsome behavior, the man who would be king, John Kerry, personally selected as his crown prince, a man who may well give the future an entirely new and extremely dark connotation of the term Edwardian. Every new thing that we learn about John Edwards is base, repulsive and evil. He is a man to be held in the very lowest regard by honorable men.
    Let me put this snake’s behavior to you in everyday terms that every man can understand. Had Edward’s wife, Elizabeth, been your younger sister, and he had been womanizing with and impregnating a young bimbo, while she, your sister and his wife, was fighting a losing battle with terminal cancer, would you be kindly disposed to this bowel worm, John Edwards? And if, after her death, in trying to throw up an any-kind-of-shit-on-the-wall defense, this scum-sucking lawyer invoked your sister as being a contributory factor to his sleazy behavior, would you not be having thoughts of, well, less than salutary health for this man who could well have been the Tapeworm of America.

    Think about that for a moment: introduced into the healthy body of America by a flea-bag parasite like John Kerry, this even more parasitic tapeworm, John Edwards, could have brought us near death had he succeeded to the top post. And if you think John Kerry didn’t know what a slime-ball he’d picked then you don’t know the dirtball dynamics of John Kerry.

    And here’s what every thinking American should take away from this: these two scumbags were the best the Democrats had to offer to lead America. That tells you everything you need to know about the Democrat Party and what they consider leadership quality.

    Thanks again, Swiftees…

  • John Kerry still whining about 2004

    Apparently, because I can’t unsubscribe successfully from the Obama For America emails, it means that I get emails from whiners like John Kerry who can’t get over his loss in 2004;

    I just think it’s appropriate that on day that’s been established to remember the veterans of the Vietnam War, I get an email from the the person who least embodies that day. Yeah, I was at the “Kerry Lied” rally which was probably the precursor to the GOE rally three years later. And Kerry sunk his candidacy for President 33 years before the election when he testified to Congress about the fantasies of his hippie brethren, threw someone else’s medal over the White House fence, and then recounted how his time in Cambodia was seared into his memory.

    If “swiftboating” means telling the truth about a veterans service when he won’t, then, yeah, I guess he was swiftboated. But you’d think that after eight years, he’d shut up about it. The only worse idea than having John Kerry write a campaign letter on Vietnam Veterans’ Day would be to turn Joe Biden loose in a room full of cripples without a script.
