  • Tuesday feel good story

    Paul sends us a link to the story about a 9-year-old Brooklyn boy who rescued himself and two other teenagers from armed burglars;

    The robbers entered the house on 80th Street in Canarsie at about 6 p.m. and ordered two teenagers inside to get on the floor, according to police.

    The only other person in the house was the boy, who was upstairs.

    When one of the suspects ran upstairs and tried to get into a second-floor bedroom, the 9-year-old boy slammed the door on the suspect’s arm, causing him to drop the gun.

    The boy picked up the gun and fired it at the suspect, according to police. No one was hit, but the home invaders quickly ran out of the house.

    According to the article, the home invaders are still running away from little Billy Bad Ass. He’d better be careful, though, Nanny Bloomberg might have him arrested regardless of how he came into possession of the gun. They ought to send the legacy Governor down to count the number of rounds in the magazine, too, but I’m sure the burglars only carried seven rounds to comply with the law.

  • Monday morning feel good stories

    Chief Tango sends us a link to a story in Tennessee Saturday night when two men broke into a Shelby County home but they encountered the homeowner who shot one of the poor gentlemen which got him a free ride to the hospital in critical condition. From WREG;

    In this neighborhood with lots of homes owned by law officers and firefighters, everyone always had a feeling of security.

    Neighbors say, thanks of a brave homeowner, that security is still here, even though most say they’ll keep looking over their shoulders.

    “I think that’s right. You have to defend and take care of your family. So, if you come in, you have to be ready to pay the price” Said [Quincy] Brown.

    In Steubenville, Ohio, Tammy Takach reportedly heard a door slam in her house, so she grabbed her gun and investigated. WPXI reports;

    Police said when officers arrived, Takach was holding 23-year-old Ryan Geary at gunpoint.

    “He stood up, put his hands up and said, ‘I’m sorry. I’m just going to go,’” Takach said. “I said, ‘The only place you’re going to go is jail. And if you move, you’re going to the morgue.’”

    Geary was arrested on burglary charges and possession of criminal tools. He remains in the Jefferson County jail on $50,000 bond.

  • Thursday feel good story

    WOTN sends us today’s feel good story about a woman in Gwinnett County, GA who stepped from her shower and encountered an Anthony Perkins imitator with a large knife. After a brief struggle the woman fell and injured herself;

    Police spokesman Edwin Ritter said, “The male was armed with a kitchen knife, a struggle ensued between the two of them. She fell in the bathtub injuring herself.”

    She briefly fought him away with a shower rod, but then he chased her into her bedroom. It was then that the woman grabbed her .22-caliber handgun and shot the intruder nine times, killing him.

    The woman is fortunate that she lived in Georgia and not New York where she could only have seven bullets in her magazine.

    “As of now, this appears to be justifiable use of force,” Ritter said. “The victim is not expected to be charged with anything.”

    Ritter said Puentes took off, but only made it to the backyard before he collapsed. He was declared dead at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.

    The woman was treated for minor injuries, but I guess she’s fine.

  • Wednesday feel good story

    WOTN sends us the link to a story about Shirley Roberts, 52 who got her gun when she noticed three men attempting to break into her house after they saw her husband leave her alone;

    It was then that Roberts, home alone, grabbed a gun and fired a single shot through her glass back door, hitting one of the men in the chest.

    Her husband came home a short time later. He said he’s just glad his wife survived the ordeal.

    “I’m not bragging about it,” Oscar Roberts said. “I’m just glad she’s unharmed and, as I said, ‘Just protect yourself.’”

    Police say the robbers also fired back before they took off. The men were later arrested at Research Medical Center.

    Her husband, Ocar says he’s been training her for that moment. That’s what a good husband does, isn’t it?

    Apparently the perps have been apprehended and are in jail or the hospital, as the case may be.

  • Another feel good story out of Houston

    Chief Tango sends us a link to a story from Houston about Alejandro Arrona, a 19-year-old who was about to graduate from high school next week, well until he graduated to armed property crime instead

    After a closer look, Sosa recognized a young man wearing light colored clothes as one of his neighbors. The trouble? The house the young man was trying to get inside didn’t belong to him. Sosa called the property owner, who arrived with his own gun.

    “There were six, seven gunshots,” Payne said.

    Sosa ran across the street to join his neighbor when he arrived to confront Arrona. He said Arrona had a gun and pointed the weapon at the homeowner before shots were fired.

    “I really don’t feel bad for him because he had no business being over there,” Sosa said.

    Payne and Martinez are grateful their young children were inside, in bed and asleep. Arrona is now charged with aggravated robbery, attempted burglary, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

    He was turning his life around, I’m sure, despite the fact that he was already a convicted felon, and therefore ineligible to carry the gun he used for his crime. Unfortunately, none of his wounds were life-threatening, so I guess we’ll be taking care of him for the next several years.

  • Because you can’t feel too good on Friday

    Paul sends us some more good news about a woman in Kansas who noticed a car backing into her driveway yesterday afternoon and then saw a man with Latex gloves at her backdoor preparing to kick the door in. So she fired her gun through the door;

    … at least one of the men fired back into her house. The woman was not hurt.

    The men then drove away.

    Three minutes later, police received a 911 call from a cellphone. The caller said, “My brother’s been shot,” but didn’t provide a location.

    About 12:20 p.m., a man shot in the chest showed up at Research Medical Center with two other men. Police arrested the three and questioned them about the attempted burglary and shooting.

    Along the same lines, UpNorth sends us the news from Fresno, that armed robbers in California can’t depend on people to be unarmed in their homes in the great socialist republic of California;

    The suspects, 34-year-old Aaron Baeza and 30-year-old Christopher Rupe, tied up the homeowner and his girlfriend and demanded money. They later freed the man to allow him to look for the cash.

    The homeowner then stabbed and killed Baeza with his samurai sword.

    Rupe escaped, remains at large, and is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators say he may be traveling with an unidentified Caucasian woman in a dark green Ford F-150 pickup, with a California license plate of 6T04402.

    Stu sends more good news from Arkansas;

    The Russellville Police Department (RPD) says just after four o’clock officers were called to the 1300 block of North Cleveland about a shooting.

    Police say the suspect was armed when he went into the home and was met by the homeowner who was also armed to defend his property.

    The injured suspect was first taken to Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock.

    The update to the story says that the poor misguided youth has passed on as a result of his wounds and Russellville is marginally safer tonight.

  • Friday feel good story

    Chief Tango sends us a link to today’s feel good story about a man and his gun. A homeowner encountered a burglar claiming to have a gun in his remote North Carolina home, a few minutes later the police got the call;

    Deputies said they got a 911 call that someone was shot during an attempted burglary at a home on Lanesboro Road. The area is mostly rural farmland and the house where the shooting happened is more than a hundred yards off of the road.

    Deputies said that a man wearing a mask and carrying a gun forced his way into the house. Someone inside the home managed to find a gun and shoot the intruder. The suspect ran from the house, and fell dead outside in the yard.

  • Thursday feel good story

    PSC sends us a link to the adventures of 77-year-old John Lewis of South Memphis who came face-to-face with a burglar in his home;

    He peaked out his bedroom and found himself face-to-face with a burglar, “He told me about three times ‘close your door or I will shoot you. I got a gun.”

    Lewis says he obeyed the burglar and went back in his bedroom, but when straight to where he hides his gun, “I came back out and I shot him.”

    The 77-year-old fired three times, hitting Travis Weddle twice.

    Police say when bullets grazed his chest and wounded his hand, Weddle ditched the 55-inch TV and got out of there,.

    “He came out the door and hollered back ‘I left my keys in there’ His car was parked out here. A white Maxima.”

    Grandpa wasn’t giving him the car keys so the injured burglar had to walk.

    He got about a mile before calling police on himself saying he’d been shot!

    “I would have shot him too,” said Nieghbor Calvin Jackson.

    Yeah, just a sec, here’s your keys, dumbass.
