  • Moscow Matthis on Russia Today

    Matthis Chiroux, our favorite punching bag, is sticking his face out in public again. Russia Today seems to be stalking the IVAW these days and since Adam Kokesh doesn’t see the value in anti-war propaganda anymore, Chiroux is their new darling.

    Chiroux does what Chiroux does best – he uses the language to pump up his image. He calls himself a deserter now – even though he’s just a coward who wouldn’t answer the Army when they called him to duty. He isn’t even as brave as a deserter.

    In the opening scene of him on the porch of the IVAW club house in DC, there are at least two people with him that have since repudiated him as a messenger of veterans.

    He says the Army “dehumanizes” foreigners, yet he does the same thing – he dehumanizes the military like it’s not full of people who are doing their best to defend the interests of the country. He claims that we’re only in Afghanistan for the resources – I guess we’re running out of sand and rocks. He calls the US military a “public relations hoax” that spreads death around the world. Two competing concepts, in my opinion. I’m guessing that the folks in Samoa are pretty happy to see US forces there.

    Chiroux claims that the military taught him to approach all foreigners as potential enemies – I guess that’s why he raped the underaged Filipino girl and why he kicked his German girlfriend to the curb when she ran out of money supporting his useless ass.

    By the way, yet another IVAW refugee sent me this video – one who has never participated here before. I wonder if I have 1700 IVAW members yet.

  • IVAW: October is Afghanistan Awareness Month

    I really don’t know what their point is, but the IVAW has named October Afghanistan Awareness Month. Their stated goal;

    We hope to bury the myth, once-and-for-all, that Afghanistan is “the Good War,” because too many Amercans are still on the fence about it.

    Now is the time to sharpen debate and broaden consensus that the U.S. must get out of Afghanistan.

    That’s funny because even the Executive Director, Jose Vasquez, has said that he wouldn’t have filed conscientious objector paperwork if only the Army had decided to send him to Afghanistan instead of Iraq. I guess he’s had a reawakening since then.

    IVAW chapters around the country also will be holding college teach-ins and other educational events to share what they know about the Afghanistan occupation.

    “…to share what they know”? Based on things like Matthis Chiroux’s six days inside the wire at Bagram? Actual Afghanistan veterans must be few and far between at this point in their organizational history. “What they know” must be limited to things they’ve read in Facebook. In fact, their knowledge base is so narrow these days, Dahr Jamail, journalist to the fakers, is forced to write books with interviews he obtained five or six years ago and reports it as today’s news.

    I’m sure that VFP will be able to find one of their members who served with Rudyard Kipling to round out the analysis, though.

  • Spanish senate files case against US/UK leaders

    I guess the Spanish Senate doesn’t think they have to deal with in their own country, they’ve decided they’re the standard of civility in the world and they’re trying to impose their will on the US and the UK;

    MADRID: Today the Spanish Senate, acting to confirm a decision already taken under pressure from powerful governments accused of grave crimes, will limit Spain’s laws of universal jurisdiction. Yesterday, ahead of the change of law, a legal case was filed at the Audiencia Nacional against four United States presidents and four United Kingdom prime ministers for commissioning, condoning and/or perpetuating multiple war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Iraq.

    This case, naming George H W Bush, William J Clinton, George W Bush, Barack H Obama, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Anthony Blair and Gordon Brown, is brought by Iraqis and others who stand in solidarity with the Iraqi people and in defence of their rights and international law.

    Unfortunately, the only links I can find to the story all track back to the same article. I can’t find it on the Spanish Senate rather sparse agenda. Either way it’s a totally ignorant thing for an impotent country like Spain. I guess they don’t remember the fate of the Spanish Armada (the last time they looked over their gun barrels at the Brits), the Spanish-American War (when we were a third world country). Mostly they forget that the last time they surrendered to Islamic wishes, they were occupied for half-a-millennium.

  • DC Recruiting Office vandalized

    Some brave members of the far Left attacked an empty recruiting office in downtown DC last night according to ABC 7News;

    Vandals splattered the windows of a military recruiting office in Washington with red paint.

    The vandalism was discovered Wednesday morning. Workers said they expected cleanup to take several hours.

    The office is at 14th and L streets.

    That particular office is hit fairly frequently because shiftless hippies can find it easily. At least this time there were no recruiters for them to bully.

    I hope you taxpayers enjoy paying for cleaning up the juvenile mess.

    Video from local Fox5 station;

    Michelle Malkin warned us on Monday.

  • Imagine my surprise

    Several weeks ago I wrote about the IVAW Convention and the vote to defeat a measure that would condemn members who incited violence against our troops. the actual wording went like this;

    Therefore be it hereby resolved that Iraq Veterans Against the War only uses, supports or endorses, non-violent and peaceful actions in seeking to accomplish its goals of ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; providing proper medical care to all returning veterans and repairing the damage done by the occupations.

    Additionally be it resolved that any member found promoting violence in pursuit of the goals of this organization, will be subject to immediate discipline, including the termination of his or her membership, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the policies governing termination of memberships.

    Back in August, that resolution was defeated among the membership and the organization was widely criticized not only by the staff and audience here at This Ain’t Hell, but also by their own membership. Many long time members left the organization because they refused to separate themselves from the more extreme elements who actually not only didn’t support the war, but supported the enemy’s goals as well.

    Well, imagine my surprise when I discovered this morning, from Army Sergeant, that the first vote was in error and now suddenly, the resolution has passed. Yes, that’s correct, it took two months to recount 79 votes – I guess they recounted one vote every day in order to keep it accurate.

    So now that the votes have miraculously cured one of the ills of IVAW, all 1700 of you can rest easy and remain in the organization. Jose Vasquez is coming by your house personally to renew your subscription to the Skittles-of-the-Month Club and to feed your unicorn.

    Unless, of course, you think that the vote was changed this week just to end the hemorrhaging of the membership.

    I’m just sayin’….

  • The vacuous intellect of the anti-war Left

    In this morning’s Washington Post, Dana Milbank writes about yesterday’s protest at the White House;

    If the commander in beef had been watching from a window, he would have had reason for concern. Not the demonstrators themselves: They were Green Party types with some self-proclaimed socialists thrown in, and they had never been enthusiastic Obama supporters to start with. What the president should worry about is whether these activists are indicators of bigger things to come if he sides with his generals and decides to bulk up the U.S. force in Afghanistan.

    In Congress a bill was introduced to cut off funding for the President to add more troops (sent to us on super-secret email list);

    SECTION 1. PROHIBITION ON INCREASE IN NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN.

    No funds appropriated or otherwise made available under any provision of law may be obligated or expended to increase the number of members of the United States Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan so that the number of members serving in Afghanistan exceeds the number so serving on the date of the enactment of this Act.

    The sponsors of the bill reads like a “usual suspects” list;

    Ms. LEE of California (for herself, Ms. WOOLSEY, Mr. MCGOVERN, Ms. WATERS, Mr. CONYERS, Mr. ELLISON, Mr. LEWIS of Georgia, Ms. WATSON, Mr. TOWNS, Mr. CLEAVER, Ms. JACKSON-LEE of Texas, Mr. COHEN, Mr. HONDA, Mr. GRIJALVA, Mr. MCDERMOTT, Mr. STARK, Mr. HINCHEY, Mr. KUCINICH, Ms. EDWARDS of Maryland, Ms. CLARKE, Mr. FILNER, and Mr. GRAYSON) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

    Of course, like TSO emailed, it probably won’t even be discussed by the Armed Forces Committee – yet there it is. It’s all political posturing that strokes the far left egos. And they’re all playing with the lives of our troops.

    Anyone who doesn’t think that the Taliban and al Qaeda aren’t encouraged by this, is fooling themselves. Anyone who doesn’t think that the antics of the far left over the last eight years is the reason that we’re still fighting these stone age cretins on barren mountain slopes halfway around the world doesn’t grasp the idea of low intensity warfare.

    Every death, every lost limb, every case of PTSD can be laid at the feet of the anti-war, pro-terrorist left.

  • Sorry, Ward, I couldn’t do it

    While I was at the protest today, I got a chance to talk to Ward Reilly and Bill Perry. Bill told me that if there weren’t so many witnesses around, he’d have punched me. I laughed. Then he complained that I posted the video of him admitting that his testimony at Winter Soldier I was BS. You’re right, Bill, you can’t hear much on that video, but you and I know what you said.

    Reilly complained that I shouldn’t talk about him like I do. If you missed the post it’s here. Then I followed up with this one.

    Reilly complained that he never said he was a Ranger, that his unit called themselves the 1/16th Infantry (Rangers). And that he’d turned me into the 1st Infantry Division Association and that “they hate you, too.” I said it was “Iron Rangers” and that I was a member of the 1st Infantry Division Association and no one had ever mentioned it to me. I said I was a member because I went to actual combat with the Big Red One.

    At that moment I figured it was stupid to argue over it and I told myself that I’d lay off Ward.

    But, then he walked away and I noticed this on his hat;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (73)a

    That’s a Ranger Tab above the 1st Infantry Division patch. If you go to the first link, you’ll notice that Reilly didn’t go to Ranger School and he’s not authorized to wear a Ranger tab. I don’t know why he’d have that tab on his hat if he’s not trying to convince people he’s a school-trained Ranger. So, sorry, Ward, no breaks here – all bets are off.

  • Code Pink/VFP/WCW at the White House (Updated w/video)

    Not feeling the hope and change, a coalition of anti war groups marched on the White House. I’ve got some pictures and videos to put up for now – but I’ll be adding more tonight.

    There was no IVAW presence today, so the Geezers For Sitting On Our Hands was at the front of the march. For some reason, anti-war protesters think they need veterans in the front to give them legitimacy.

    That’s retired Colonel Ann Wright carrying a mock-up coffin with Jim Goodnow behind her. Goodnow drove the Impeach Bush bus which caught fire in a New Jersey rest stop and Goodnow claimed he was firebombed by right-wing extremists;

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 021

    Listen to the speaker in the first portion of this video as she equates the war in Afghanistan to Southeast DC. The moonbattery runs deeply in this one;

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 025

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 023

    Cindy Sheehan was there – but I didn’t need to say that because you know there were cameras.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 028

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 030

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 063

    A couple of Guantanamo prisoners chained themselves to the fence – I volunteered to help the cops beat them, but they only chuckled and told me they could handle it.

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 072

    Code Pink.VFP Protest 069

    They waterboarded one old hippie and when I shouted for them to behead him instead of bathing him, they called me a “Nazi”.

    I guess you could take this sign a hundred ways, but anyway you parse it, it’s a slap against the troops;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (77)

    It’s not a protest against Bush anymore.

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (75)

    They needed more cowbell;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (66)

    Cindy and Medea have made up apparently;

    The National Lawyers Guild tried to intimidate the Free Republic folks;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (28)

    Probably because they were getting more interviews than the hippies;

    White House Protest 10-5-2009 (23)

    If you need more pictures, I have about a hundred at My Flickr Photostream. I kept the photos of the comely news ladies over there.

    I talked with Dana Milbank from the Washington Post and gave him my (unsolicited) impression. He told me that he’s writing this like it’s the “canary in the mine”. I told him that it’s more like a desperate play for donations. All of the “big guns” were there; Cindy Sheehan, Media Benjamin, Jody Evans, Michael MacPhearson (VFP’s ED) and some minor guns like John Grant (VFP in Philly and Hugo Chavez fan). They were there because they’re hurting for money what with the Democrats at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue and MoveOn sucking up the Left’s money.

    By the way, no MoveOn today, either.

    I’m really surprised that IVAW wasn’t there. I wonder if it’s a policy shift or a lack of participation. Since they recently officially condemned the Afghanistan War, it seemed the perfect venue.

    UPDATED AGAIN: Apparently, some of the protesters got arrested after I left for not keeping the sidewalk clear. I saw a couple of them giving crap to the Park Police and told them to quit being dicks and let the cops do their job. Of course, i got called a “Nazi” for that, too. So these bozos deserved to be arrested.
