  • Late Sunday Night Funny

    At least it is Sunday here. I was not going to post this weekend but this is too good to pass up.

    I have been following posts on the Rag Blog that led to John posting this one.

    I got a chance to read what the author’s thought on both sites, some standard replies but nothing out of the norm. Then comes this guy, Brother Jonah

    He does not waste a letter to start off the crazy.

    Then there’s the Kurd Shepherd blown away along with his flock because a U.S. Air Force Pilot couldn’t tell the difference between sheep and people. Bush, a master Liar from the depths of Hell, claims that every such incident occurred only whenthe aircraft were targeted. This happened in the Northern No-Fly Zone (Kurdistan) before the Invasi… oops “Liberation”.

    Ok, besides were is the proof, I have to ask where did this come from?

    Lets not forget the sinister motives.

    I suspect the reason you challenge her story is by your own admission you do a lot of challenging of anybody who speaks or writes against the war. The Anti-War movement are by necessity volunteers, no corporate or government sponsors.

    Or this one.

    We’re not the ones killing people based on lies. That leaves a much higher burden of proof on the Pentagon apologists. Prove you’re not an Agent Provocateur or that any of the “discredited” stories you claim to be debunked are both fake AND not from a Pentagon source.

    This one I was not even sure how to reply to this one.

    Then there’s the notion that the Pentagon plants fake veterans in organizations like VVAW and IVAW in order to “expose” them, and all the ChickenHawks crow really loudly that they’ve “disproved” the Anti-War Veterans.

    So all of those people that have been outed in the IVAW as fakes are really just infiltrators.

    It goes on and on like that for two post, but the thing that I got offended about was him trying to tell me how Texans act. I was born and raised in Texas, living there for over 25 years.

    By the way, people in Texas DO talk to strangers. It’s something you’d have to experience.

    Really? I mean seriously?

  • Marc Hall slides

    IVAW member Marc Hall, the Stop Loss rapper, slides off with virtually no punishment after he threatened to shoot his superiors back in December, according to the Associated Press;

    The dismissal for misconduct means Spc. Marc A. Hall will avoid criminal charges but lose all military benefits earned over at least four years of service, including an earlier tour in Iraq.

    Army spokesman Lt. Col. Eric Bloom said Saturday that top brass decided to discharge Hall instead of taking him to trial in part because he admitted his guilt.

    So Hall makes out fine, while I’m sure some of his fellow soldiers are weighing the consequences of their own adherence to Army policy. Yeah, he lost his benefits, but he was facing 15 years in prison for communicating a threat – in fact he’s communicated threats several times – and we all know how his (NLG) lawyers will eventually coerce the VA in to giving the former mechanic back his benefits.

    Bloom said that Maj. Gen. Terry Wolff signed off Friday on a plea deal for Hall to admit guilt and be discharged from the Army instead of face trial in Baghdad, as military lawyers requested.

    I understand the Army’s reluctance to make a big deal out of this, but it will bite them in the ass. They don’t need to hear it from me, they know.

  • Beware of hippies bearing conversation

    Sporkmaster sent me this blog post from Rag Blog, one of those countless anti-war blogs. The post is titled Danny at MacDonald’s. Let us begin by how the post ended – the bio of the author;

    Leslie Cunningham works with the Retiree Organizing Committee of the Texas State Employees Union. She has been an activist for 50 years and a socialist for 40.

    So there’s some doubt as to whether this story ever happened right off the bat. The jist of the story goes like this; Leslie meets Danny at MacDonald’s playground in Austin. Danny is with his daughter, Leslie is with her grand daughter. Danny tells Leslie about his drug dealing wife in the first few minutes of their meeting. The he tells her he ended his fifteen years in the Army because he got tired of “killing farmers”. Then a bouncy young lass, who happened to be on the cusp of her own deployment and provides contrast to morose Danny for the little tale.

    It’s all just too coincidental to be real. I don’t think I’ve ever talked to a complete stranger about my family problems at MacDonald’s – have you? And the addition of the new soldier heading off to war is just a little too serendipitous and convenient.

    I think Granny Leslie needs to put the bong down for a few days.

  • Where are the anti-war crowd?

    Someone just emailed me an article in regards to LTC Terry Lakin, the Army officer who has refused deployment to Afghanistan on the grounds that the President isn’t a US citizen who is now facing court martial charges. Now, I just spent the morning reading Dede Miller explaining how she respects only the soldiers who lay down their arms and quit.

    I’ve been reading Courage to Resist for years, and there’s no praise for Lakin – lots about Marc Hall, the Stop Loss rapper, Travis Bishop, Alexis Hutchinson, Victor Agosto – but no mention of Lakin.

    I scoured the IVAW website, Veterans Today, March Forward, Veterans for Common Sense and the multitude of other “veterans organizations” and can’t find a mention of support for him anywhere. Vets Voice doesn’t like him though, but that’s because he goes against the party line over there.

    So it looks like This Ain’t Hell is the only consistent voice on the internet – we don’t like anyone who Blue Falcons their fellow troops and won’t do their duty for any reason. the military isn’t a political tool with which to whack any administration. it’s the tool of the American people to be used as we see fit, when we want.

    If Lakin, Agosto, Bishop, Hutchinson or any other peckerwood has a problem with our policies or leadership, they should make their move before they’re called to duty. Period. Anyone on either side who thinks so little of the responsibility with which the American people have entrusted them that they reduce it to a political discussion should be executed on the spot. How’s that for being fair and consistent?

  • Wikileaks video is just cover for troops haters

    I read comments by Josh Stieber and his friend and I commend them for defending the soldiers (although it’s half-hearted) however that’s not what folks are thinking. Some anti-war types are using it as an excuse to condemn the troops. For example, someone sent me some screen shots of Dede Miller’s Facebook Wall. For those of you who may not know, Dede Miller is Cindy Sheehan’s sister.

    It was almost funny to watch through several conversations she was having, Dede tried to garnish sympathy for herself using Casey Sheehan’s death, all the while she was tearing the troops still serving to shreds;

    dedea2a

    I have mountains of screen shots in which Miller, that paragon of moral authority hiding behind Casey Sheehan’s body, refers to the troops as “heartless killing machines”.

    dedea2b

    dedea3a

    So this is not a dialogue about the war and it’s conduct like the peawits at Wikileak claim, it’s providing cover for the anti-war doofuses to tear our military apart. Anti-war doofuses who don’t live the real world – they live in a world insulated from reality by the very people they attack.

    Oh, and, Dede, in the event that you come here and read this, because most of you meglomaniacs do come here to This Ain’t Hell eventually, it was one of your friends who sent me these screen shots. They agree with you to your face, or say nothing, and then send me proof that you’re nothing but a brainless bimbo for the anti-war crowd. Better check your six.

  • IVAW’s witness to Wikileaks vid

    Well, another B 2/16 soldier has come forward to join IVAW’s Josh Stieber. There’s now an MP3 interview from a radio show. His name is Ethan McCord. I’ve listened to the interview and although everyone is making a big deal out of it, there is nothing earth shattering about the interview.

    The media’s main complaint is the language used by the pilots. Yes, it’s shocking that pilots are so cavalier – never before in history have pilots been cavalier, right? Their indictment against the military seems to be that the Army kills people and that Iraqis should be allowed to bring their children to a fire fight without worry. That’s just stupid/

    Here’s my complaint; people who call themselves journalists should actually watch the videos and know what they’re talking about. All of the interviews I listened to or read or watched in regards to this call the vehicle which drives over a body a Bradley (some morons even call it a tank) like Amy Goodman Democracy Now! propagandist does in this interview with Stieber (who doesn’t correct her, by the way);

    democracy-now-stieber5a

    Now, does this look like a Bradley to anyone, because this is the vehicle that runs over a body;

    bradley

    This screen shot is from 12:47 in the video, just after the Wikileaks title page that identifies it as a Bradley – so all of the idiot journalists fall in line and without a whit of research parrot the line. So how can we expect these numbnuts to put any of the video into context when they can’t even ID vehicles properly?

  • IVAW’s witness to “collateral murder”

    Josh Stieber was in B 2/16 Infantry on the day the the “Collateral Murder” video was shot, according to him in this interview

    The IVAW article about the video admits that Steiber wasn’t on the scene that particular day because he was being punished for disobeying an order earlier – so that’s his starting point in the story. No where. He wasn’t there, and he was a consciencious objector. Stieber goes to say that the soldiers in video weren’t bad apples, but he hints that they’re mindless drones who are only acying and talking like they were programmed to act and talk. I guess folks in the military aren’t smart enough to think for themselves. Well, except Stieber…who was being punished for disobeying a lawful order.

    Of course, it’s difficult to insult the “system” without insulting the people who are the system. Yes, the helicopter pilots were in a rush to kill some terrorists standing on a corner in proximity to US troops and their on-going operation. It’s not some immature video game jabber – it was the excitement over avoiding a US catastrophe and casualties. I guess Stieber never understood the camaraderie of the military because he was too busy avoiding his duty.

    At the IVAW website, Stieber shows just how ignorant and immature he’s become;

    “If these videos shock and revolt you, they show the reality of what war is like,” says Stieber. “If you don’t like what you see in them, it means we should be working harder towards alternatives to war.”

    Yes, alternatives to war – like Twinkie-eating contests or unicorn races.

    Background on Stieber and his “expert” opinion. It seems to me that if this was a big deal and Stieber had anything to contribute, he’d have done so before the video became public.

  • Charity; UR doin’ it wrong

    The last we heard about Stop Loss rapper Marc Hall, he was headed to Iraq for his court martial. He faced charges that he that threatened to shoot his chain-of-command in his little recording of a rap ditty. So if he’s going to Iraq, obviously, his civilian lawyers won’t be there. Can anyone tell me why his National Lawyer Guild counselors would need to raise money for his defense?

    Now someone tell me how the anti-war Left isn’t doing what they do for profit.
