  • Branum narrows his market

    I know we haven’t mentioned James Branum for a while. It seemed like he was actually working for his clients since last year, so I left him pretty much alone. However, it seems that working for his clients was difficult because he’s begun turning away work. Not all of his clients fit the bill to be sacrificial lambs for the anti-war movement, so he’s narrowed his focus, apparently;

    He only wants new cases that could result in a trial so he can blather on the public record about how the Army doesn’t take care of soldiers and make his case for the abolition of the standing military and scare away potential recruits. He needs a stage.

    Doing his job turned out to be too hard, I guess the half-assed way he was doing it was a lot easier;

    I regret having to do this, but after close to 5 years of incessant travel and stress, I’m feeling the need to make changes that will enable me to keep doing this work over the long haul. — If you are looking for legal counsel on a case I can’t take, please contact the Military Law Task Force (email: nlg.mltf@gmail.com, phone: (619)463-2369, web: www.nlgmltf.org) for assistance.

    Poor guy had to move out of his grandparents’ basement and sponge off his clients for a place to live in Killeen, TX. I wonder if he ever paid back some of his clients after borrowing money from them? I know one guy he borrowed money from, got kicked out of his apartment because he couldn’t pay the rent that month. Nice.

  • Free Republic’s “Last Stand” at Walter Reed

    Tea Party WRAMC 045
    We got an email last night from Trooprally, the Free Republic’s main instigator of the more than 6 years-long rally outside of Walter Reed on Friday nights when the wounded arrive from the Was Against Terror. They began their vigil when Code pink and the union thugs started protesting the wars at Walter Reed front gate. According to Phil, the hippies still show up in anemic numbers, but halfway down the street after our buddy, Concrete Bob, scooped up their corner when they let their permit expire briefly.

    But here’s the email about their “Last Stand” on July 29th;

    The DC Chapter of FReeRepublic invites all patriots to stand together with us at Walter Reed for one last big gathering on JULY 29,2011, at the main gate at Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW. We will stand in support from 6:30PM to around 9:20PM when the dinner bus returns, cheering the wounded and their families through the gate.

    You have been an integral part in our support of the wounded at Walter Reed. This will be the last big gathering at Walter Reed before it closes down in August. Also, we do not know when the Friday night dinner buses will stop taking the wounded and their families out to dinner, but rest assured, the DC Chapter will continue the Friday nights until the last bus returns.

    If you cannot make it on July 29, email me to see if we will be there so you can join us. We expect the dinner bus to keep running several weeks into August.

    This will also be the 328th CONSECUTIVE Friday night that patriots have stood at Walter Reed. We have stood there on Christmas Day 2009, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve,2010, on 9/11/2009, Good Fridays, tropical storms, snow storms, rain storms, 12 degree temperature when the bus finally returned, and each Friday in between. We are on our 3rd generation MOAB.

    The DC Chapter will have banners, signs, patriotic music, drinks and plenty of pizza.

    Hope to see some familiar patriots that night.

    This invite is being sent to some patriots who I know cannot make it, but I wanted to keep you apprised of an end of one of the greatest troop support rallies in history. It is only surpassed by years of support families gave their loved during WWII while they fought for our freedom. In WWII, soldiers were away from home for years at a time.

    The DC Chapter says Thank You for your support at Walter Reed.

    Coincidentally, I have an appointment at Walter Reed that afternoon, so I’ll be there. TAH has some history with the Walter Reed Freep, they even invited me and my wife to their Christmas party one year. but here are some links to some of our coverage;

  • Jane Fonda is mad at history

    See that picture above? It never happened according to Jane Fonda. See, she was cancelled from a spot on QVC to engage in the capitalist process of hawking her latest book and QVC viewers threatened to stay away en masse so QVC cancelled her appearance according to an E! Online article sent us by ROS. Fonda proceeded to complain on her blog about the cancellation;

    The network said they got a lot of calls yesterday criticizing me for my opposition to the Vietnam War and threatening to boycott the show if I was allowed to appear. I am, to say the least, deeply disappointed that QVC caved to this kind of insane pressure by some well funded and organized political extremist groups. And that they did it without talking to me first,” Fonda wrote on her blog. “I have never shied away from talking about this as I have nothing to hide. I could have pointed out that threats of boycotts are nothing new for me and have never prevented me from having best selling books and exercise DVDs, films, and a Broadway play.

    Fonda continued;

    Bottom line, this has gone on far too long, this spreading of lies about me! None of it is true. NONE OF IT! I love my country. I have never done anything to hurt my country or the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for us. do not understand what the far right stands to gain by continuing with these myths. In this case, they denied a lot of people the chance to hear about a book that can help make life better, easier and more fulfilling

    Yes, we’re spreading lies – like the picture above. And she’s never done anything to hurt the country or the men and women who fight for the country. Well, unless you include things like supporting John Kerry’s Vietnam Veterans Against the War and his Winter Soldier hearings. Or making the anti-war film “FTA”.

    According to IMBD, the 1972 “documentary” FTA was;

    A documentary about a political troupe headed by actors Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland which traveled to towns near military bases in the US in the early 1970s. The group put on shows called “F.T.A.”, which stood for “F**k the Army”, and was aimed at convincing soldiers to voice their opposition to the Vietnam War, which was raging at the time. Various singers, actors and other entertainers performed antiwar songs and skits during the show.

    Just by being an impudent cunt, Fonda gave aid and comfort to the North Vietnamese and lengthened the war, causing more deaths. What’s most disappointing is the comments at her blog;

    That is such a shame. I, for one was very much looking forward to seeing your appearance, and am STILL very much looking forward to reading your book.

    Perhaps the right is jealous – of your beauty, energy and happiness. Lets face it, its much easier for the government to control the masses when their free thinking is impaired by fear and lethargy.

    March on as you have always done! The Universe will still deliver your message

    Tyler Smith says:

    That’s a shame. You’d think that after forty some years people would forget about your stance on a war, especially after all the great work you’ve done in the fields of health, women’s rights, etc. since then. We support you, Jane!

    Ed Scheid says:

    I am shocked that this could go on still. You remain an inspiration to many people. I came from Pittsburgh to NY to see you in both the ‘Necessary Targets’ reading and in ’33 Variations’. You were powerful in both.

    I’m shocked that there are still pinheads out there that think actions don’t have consequences. Sure it’s been forty years and I hope it goes on for another 40 years. And let this be an example for anyone else in Hollywood who has the same aspirations.

  • VetVoice forgets that it’s a “war against terror’

    Dicksmith goes off on a tear about Leon Panetta’s talk with troops in the Green ZOne yesterday during which Panetta said;

    “The reason you guys are here is because on 9/11 the United States got attacked,” Panetta told the troops [in Iraq]. “And 3,000 Americans – 3,000 not just Americans, 3,000 human beings, innocent human beings – got killed because of al-Qaeda. And we’ve been fighting as a result of that.”

    So Dicksmith says;

    Seriously, Leon? What exactly happened on 9/11 that made invading a country that had nothing to do with it, getting several thousand American troops killed in the process over the last eight years, a worthy course of action? I’m sure the troops the SECDEF spoke to heard that statement and looked at him like he had an additional appendage sprouting from his forehead.

    There’s a reason we called the recent wars “the war against terror”. George Bush in his speech to the nation on 9-11-01 said specifically “I’ve directed the full resources for our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.”

    Before bin Laden the most wanted terrorist in the world was Abu Nidal – the real reason Oliver North installed security around his house. Abu Nidal was hiding in Iraq for decades until he death in 2002. A year before the invasion of Hussein’s Iraq, Hussein was paying off the families of Palestinian suicide bombers encouraging the practice. And then there’s always Salman Pak. And there was the 500 tons of yellow cake uranium that the US shipped from Iraq to Canada.

    You can probably argue that Iraq had little to do with the attacks on 9-11, but they certainly weren’t some innocent passerby in the war against terror. And Panetta was right that the reason we were in iraq is because of the events on 9-11.

  • Spoiled ditz doesn’t support the troops

    Some spoiled ditz explains “Why I Do Not Support the Troops”

    Of course, it’s because the troops have killed over a million innocent Iraqis, that they’re not courageous because they gun down 5 year-olds. She explains that being in the military is the perfect job for a serial killer and that our troops are indeed serial killers since, by her assessment, we’re only killing innocents in the Middle East.

    She continues that members of IVAW are more courageous than the troops who do the job they’ve agreed to do.

    Of course, we’ve not killed a million people in Iraq – many of the innocent Iraqis who died during the war were killed by the people we’re fighting. Many of the people who’ve died in Afghanistan were killed by the former ruling party of that country. Many of the people in IVAW haven’t even been to the war, so they don’t even know what it is they disagree with about the war – their decisions, like little Kassie Dill here are based on erroneous assumptions.

    She should just admit that her main disagreement with the troops is that they’re willing to make sacrifices that she’s unwilling to make and they make her feel inadequate. No one likes the idea of war, Kassie, but war is a reality of our times, and just because you’re unwilling to accept that simple fact, that’s no reason to disparage the people who are willing to face reality from the relative safety of your bedroom in your parents’ house. That relative safety that was secured for you by people who are better than you.

    Thanks to ROS for the link.

  • If You Want To Win Elections, Adam Kokesh Isn’t Going to Help You

    The Pima County Sheriff Office’s handling of the Jose Guerena killing could have been something that Pima County Republicans could have used against the despicable Sheriff Clarence Dupnik in the 2012 election. I say “could have” because  the incident has instead sparked infighting among Pima County Republicans and has devolved into what one local news outlet has dubbed “Facebook drama“. I originally defended Brian Miller, the Pima County GOP Chairman, who came under fire for penning a letter condemning the Pima County Sheriff Office’s handling of the Guerena killing. This was in despite of the fact that Miller was a Paultard and who in the past had done Paultarded things. However, the more I learned, the more uncomfortable I became with how Miller was acting and I have come to believe that he is basically trying to turn the Pima County Republican Party into a Ron Paul cult. Then I stumbled across this little gem:

    First of all, I still can’t get over the fact that Adam Kokesh can say with a straight face that he is a libertarian when he is a paid host on a network that is subsidized by the Kremlin. Yeah I know Uncle Jimbo appears on RT a lot but UJ isn’t a Paultard who ran for Congress on a platform of abolishing most (or all) of the government. Anyways, Brian Miller, an air force officer and OEF veteran,  should be smarter than to associate with a shitbird Marine who has consistently lied about the character of his service and who generally acts like a horse’s ass. Instead of attempting to unite the party he was elected to lead, Miller is digging in and appealing to the lunatic fringe for support.

    So good luck with that Chairman Miller and good luck with winning any elections in Pima County in the future because luck is the only way the Republicans are going to win in Pima County with a Paultard like you in charge.

  • Words and slogans are more important then action.

    One group that I have been following by the name of“Journey to Smiles” . When I first started to watch them I had some hope that it may turn into something useful. But as of the past year or two, all they produce is Hallmark type videos with cliches and naive slogans.

    Now it is full fledged propaganda.

    We send you our love through our friends on the US Boat to Gaza sailing with the Freedom Flotilla 2.
    A fortnight ago, there appeared a remote possibility that two of us would be considered for travel on the Mavi Marmara. It gripped us that we may have been able to share each other’s pain at a closer distance, for a little while. The people of Mavi Marmara and the other flotilla boats have opened up the seas of our hearts. Afghanistan needs a flotilla too, but you would know that Afghanistan has no sea.

    We imagine the blue seas. Imagination helps friends not to worry about whether they’re available for each other ALL the time, or whether they will ever see each other face-to-face.

    20-year-old Skye Miller was our friend for a brief moment, introduced to us by Kathy Kelly, one of our dear activist friends on the US Boat to Gaza. Skye was dying from cancer in a hospice and Kathy had passed her a blue scarf from our silent, peace walk in Kabul this spring.

    We sent a message to Skye, ‘Mohammad Jan, Abdulai and I are typing this email feeling a sadness, and feeling that life must be more than just what we see. It is meaningful for us to give you our small ‘salams’ through Kathy and through the visions of peace colored in blue. Thank you Skye! ‘

    Not to be out done Rethink Afghanistan is claiming that it is gaining ground that three Senators are calling for the withdraw of Afghanistan. They even have a Republican. But it kinda loses it impact once you see it is Rand Paul.

    The senators are right. We need that money here at home, not wasted on a war that drags out for another 3 years. Get them home!

    Once again it is all about the money and the troops a after thought. But he slogans sound nice.

  • Flotilla sinks, figuratively speaking

    The Greeks were successful in that they kept the Code Pink Sea Hags from killing themselves in an attempt to invade Gaza. Of course, they don’t see it that way;

    Now our folks are beginning the journey home – some will arrive today, some tomorrow and others in the days ahead. Everyone is tired, but their energy is strong! They will share their stories and talk about their experiences in communities everywhere. And they will use this incredible time they shared in Athens as a spring board for further activism and organizing.

    Only hippies would be interested in hearing from other hippies how they failed so spectacularly. And only hippies would continue pouring their money down the dark, gaping bottomless hole that is Code Pink. If their goal is to get supplies to Gaza, they’ve failed twice. If their goal is to raise more money that they didn’t earn to make empty gestures, they’re succeeding, but how does that help anyone except the Sea Hags? In fact, it looks like poor Greek who rented his boat to them might not get it back from his government. And they’re leaving their Captain behind facing charges from the government. So everyone is a winner!

    But, hey, they marched on the Spanish Embassy in Athens so it’s not a complete waste. Right?

    And if you’re worried about the filthy hippie punks who were fasting, their fast ended before it began apparently. They only had to endure two days of banana smoothies and hot dogs.
