  • Muslim grievance theater [Jonn]

    We’ve watched, over the last several days as Muslims in the US have protested the Israeli response to blatant attacks by Hamas against Israeli civilians. Last night, protesters in London and Paris turned violent. In London, they scuffled with police, in Paris they torched private property.

    I wrote the other night about a Muslim man who attacked a Jewish immigrant, injured a police officer and walked away from the incident scot-free, apparently. Can the violence we’ve seen in Europe be far away in this country as well? Well, here’s my question to all of the Muslims who think they have a legitimate complaint. Leaving aside the specifics of your allegations against Israel, and considering only your passion and commitment, why are you still here?

    If you feel so impassioned about the plight of Palestinians, why aren’t you sneaking into the Gaza Strip to fight the Israelis? Sure the Israelis and Egyptians have a blockade in place but that didn’t stop al Qaeda from infiltrating into Iraq from Syria and Iran, did it? The West Bank shares a border with Jordan – there’s a way to get into the fight.

    Why isn’t Iran sponsoring arms shipments into Gaza like they did to Hezbollah in Lebanon? Why haven’t they airdropped weapons and troops into Gaza? They have the inclinations and the means. They haven’t even offered to supply Palestinians with medical supplies.

    But most importantly, why aren’t these youths in Europe and the US streaming back into Gaza to help Hamas? The simple answer is; they’re cowards. Just like Hamas is cowardly and prefers to fire missiles at civilians randomly than to face an army of legitimate combatants in a head-to-head battle.

    And that’s why they riot; they’re cowards. They know that no matter what they do in the West, at the end of the day, they’ll still be alive and they go home to watch TV and decompress from their antics. few will end up in jail over night and released the next day, no matter who and how many they’ve injured, no matter how much private property they’ve destroyed. There’s no downside for them.

    If they go to Gaza, they might get shot by Israelis, or Hell, they might be shot by Hamas (like 75 members of Fatah were shot by Hamas just before the Israeli incursion). Besides, in the West, they’ve got ANSWER thugs telling them how brave they are to march a few hundred yards in the cold. No downside.

    In other words, the Muslims in the West are too lazy, too cowardly, too selfish to actually act on what they claim they believe in. It’s much easier to engage in theater than to engage youself in the process. Muslims in the West are giant pussies.

  • Muslim attacks Jewish counter protester in DC (UPDATED) [Jonn]

    ANSWER and the Muslim American Society were at it again today in DC, this time in front of the Israeli Embassy. Of, course, you know I couldn’t resist going. Yep Brian Becker, the ANSWER national coordinator was there again calling for the arrest of George Bush and the rest of the criminals so they can answer for their “crimes”. Lord knows what they’ll do after January. It looks like they had a few hundred;
    Israel Embassy 024
    But it had the feel of a social event more than a protest;
    Israel Embassy 019
    They even had a token self-hating Jew. Just one.
    Israel Embassy 035
    See the yellow flag? It’s the Hezbollah flag – sweet crowd, huh?
    Israel Embassy 014
    Israel Embassy 028
    Israel Embassy 039
    There were two counter protesters. The little guy on your right was a Lithuanian Jew who had immigrated here in 1985.
    Israel Embassy 009
    When I went up the street to start filming the protest as it moved to the Egyptian Embassy, I kept an eye on that corner where the two counterprotesters were and I saw this guy in the white shirt hit the Lithuanian Jew;
    Israel Embassy 044
    So I scurried back down and it’s all in this video;

    I got there just in time to see a cop pinning the guy in the white shirt to the pavement.
    So this guy and I are the only two who volunteered to be witnesses for him;
    Israel Embassy 043
    That’s Alex Knepper a blogger from Race42012 in the picture above describing the incident to the local Fox Affliate newsbabe. But I’m not hoping for much. The officer who interviewed us said that “these things never go to court”. Yeah, not in DC they don’t. It was assault, they took his statement, he has two witnesses, but that’s not enough to go to trial in DC. Wonder why? Me, too.

    We’ll see if it makes the news tonight.
    Israel Embassy 042

    There are more photos of the protest at my Flickr page.

    Thanks to Atlas Shrugs, Gateway Pundit, Solomonia, Race 4 2012, Wake Up America, Thunder Pig, Winds of Jihad, Doug@Ross, Marooned in Marin, Chickenhawk Express and Memeorandum for the links. Willkommen zu unseren neuen deutschen Freunden an Politically Incorrect.

    UPDATE: I just watched the Fox 5 newscast and they didn’t use either interview, but they did mention the incident in relation to the police officer that was injured tackling the aggressor (in my video you can see the officer struggling to stand up).

  • Lincoln Brigade; roots of Vets For Peace [Jonn]

    Someone emailed me a job offer from Veterans For Peace. In the listing, the group mentioned that “its membership comprises more than 7,000 members, including veterans from the Spanish Civil War to the Iraq War, who seek to raise public awareness of the true costs and consequences of militarism and war.”

    Well, last year I’d read Hemmingway’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls” about an American in the Spanish Republican Army fighting the facists in Spain and I remembered how I had to wade through the Stalinist propaganda in the story which was an excellent read otherwise.

    So I started doing some research on the war and the relationship to the communists. It turns out that the major recruiting efforts for the columns of the Republicans’ foreign fighters was conducted under Stalin’s Communist International (Comintern) Bureau. Most of the funding for the Republicans came from Stalin. OK, well, for a staunch anti-fascist I guess that wouldn’t matter, as long as they had the opportunity to fight Franco who was funded by Hitler and Mussolini. And in 1936-1938 one side was as bad the other, I suppose, if you look at it from an American perspective in the context of it’s own time – not knowing that the Holocaust was coming, or that Katyn Forest massacre and the Great Purge was a few years away.

  • Pallywood comes to DC [Jonn]

    Pallywood 013

    The anti-Hamas battle came to DC today. In front of the US State Department to be exact. On an email tip from William Teach at Pirate’s Cove and Right Wing News, Uncle Jimbo, TSO and I were there to bring it to you with all of it’s repetitious chanting blather.

    Today’s rally was organized by ANSWER’s National Coordinator guy Brian Becker;
    Pallywood 014
    If Becker was in on it, it was the biggest thing going on in the country hippie-wise. If you click on the link you can read what I wrote about him back in January after another anti-Israel protest at the Israeli Embassy. But, their budget must be dwindling because I saw him interviewing himself afterwards – he was the interviewer, interviewee and cameraman.
    This was his sidekick;
    Pallywood 015
    I know who she is, but I can’t remember her name now. (Editor’s Note: Raoul reminded me that she’s Mara Verheyden-Hilliard from the National Lawyers’ Guild – she’s got a page on Discover the Network) She was working the crowd up into a frenzy of paranoia about how we were ringed by police and people in the State Department were watching us with binoculars. She left out the tiny remote controlled mosquito things flying around the group.
    Here’s the video of her paranoid rantings;We were ringed by police, but we were on State Department property in downtown DC, not everyone there was protesting. I saw at least one panhandler fleecing the crowd.
    Pallywood 029
    And it was several hundred people;
    Pallywood 046
    Pallywood 022
    Pallywood 020
    Pallywood 021
    Pallywood 025
    Pallywood 033
    At five o’clock some of them prayed, but certainly a small portion of them. I guess that’s as deep as most of them took those shouts of “God is great” I heard.
    Pallywood 051
    The most important thing is to listen to the rhetoric and lies in the videos. Notice there are very few Palestinians, very few Arabs speaking. The Arab Community, like IVAW, like every other group of “victims” are being used by the anti-war community to work us all up into a lather. But you can see that for yourself.

    If you look closely, you can see Uncle Jimbo trying to blend in with his “Don’t be a Dou-Che” T-shirt;
    And finally, while I was losing the light, they marched off some-damn-where with their mindless chants;

    If anyone in the DC area wants to counter-protest, they’ll be at the Israeli Embassy at 4PM Friday and then they claim they’re marching to the Egyptian Embassy – it’s about 1/3 of a mile. I’ll probably be there, too.
    Jimbo’s excellent camera work is here.

  • Ship of Fools turned back [Jonn]

    While I was snoozing through a Code Pink protest yesterday, news broke from Little Green Footballs that Cynthia McKinney had boarded the SS Moonbat and headed for Gaza with supplies on a three hour tour, three hour tour.

    [S]he’s getting on a boat in Cyprus with a bunch of international moonbat activists (aka Hamas supporters), planning to run Israel’s blockade on Gaza.

    Michelle Malkin reported last night that the Israeli Navy had turned the yacht around (only McKinney would conduct an amphibious assault in a yacht);

    Update 5:22am Eastern. Carl in Jerusalem reports that the S.S. Moonbat has been turned back by the Israeli Navy…

    The yacht carrying former US Congresscritter and Green Party Presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney tried to outmaneuver an Israeli navy gunboat off Gaza Tuesday morning. The yacht rammed into the Israeli gunboat, which then turned it around and sent it back to Cyprus.

    Haaretz reports;

    Free Gaza Movement told Reuters their boat, carrying 3.5 tons of medical aid with 16 people aboard, was rammed and shot at while in international waters about 70-80 miles off Gaza by Israeli naval vessel.

    Palmor denied there had been any shooting although the two ships made “physical contact.” He said no one had been hurt and that the Israeli ship escorted the aid boat back to Cypriot territorial waters.

    From CNN:

    In a radio message, the Israelis accused the vessel of being involved in terrorist activity, its captain said.

    […]

    But Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor called allegations that the vessel was rammed deliberately “absurd.” He said the volunteer boat was trying to outmaneuver the Israeli vessel when it was struck.

    […]

    The Dignity was headed to Lebanon after the collision.

    […]

    The boat was taking on a small amount of water after the collision, its captain said. Palmor said the vessel refused assistance after the incident.

    For the pampered Left, every indignity they suffer is some sort of intentional conspiracy against them.

  • The shoe toss saga continues (Updated w/videos)

    Videos below the fold

    Today Code Pink took their shoe-toss road show to the Iraqi Consulate on P Street, in Washington DC to “demand” the release of Muntadhar Al-Zeidi, the journalist who threw his shoe at George Bush a few weeks ago. Code Pink has grasped this thing around the throat like grim death and refuses to let it go. The clowns were demanding that Muntadhar Al-Zeidi be compensated. I guess we should buy him some better shoes and pay for lessons so he won’t throw little a little girl any more.

    Needless to say, just like the protest TSO covered the other week, attendance was poor, even by the media;

  • The Left loves them some Hamas

    The Israelis pounded Hamas pretty good this morning after taking six weeks of rocket attacks from Hamas-controlled Gaza. Some reports of dead Palestinians are over 200 dead and 300 injured. And the Left is hatin’ on the Israelis. From Little Green Footballs, I read this from Daily Koz;

    We cannot seriously expect Hamas to end their barrage of rocket attacks on southern Israel until the Israelis make good faith efforts to recognize the legitimate claims of the Palestinian people.

    Keep in mind, this is after the Israelis endured six weeks of rocket attacks without returning fire until the ceasefire ended. Not to mention the other concessions Israel has made over the last several years. And even though readers of this blog knew that counter attacks were imminent, one writer at Firedoglake called it a surprise attack against Hamas;

    Another, calls it a “first strike”;

    Well, so much for peace. Looks like Siun was right, and the deliveries yesterday were just a pathetic public relations ploy. Israel managed to assassinate the police chief, governor, and security chief. A first strike bombing like this can do a fair bit of damage, as it did, but Hamas will now disperse its people and assets, and future bombings will be less effective.

    Of course, this second writer doesn’t mention the Hamas rocket falling short yesterday and killing two Gazan girls. But he does drag out a picture of a dead Palestinian baby from February for his piece;

    I’m sure this writer figures Hamas should be forgiven since they didn’t kill many Israelis;

    Hamas missile counterattacks killed, oh, one person.

    So because they’re bumbling buffoons, they should be allowed to continue firing their rockets into Israel with no response because they don’t usually hit much anyway. Besides, who knows, practice might improve their aim. Oh, and Fatah are apparently the Israelis’ lap dog which might come as a surprise to both parties;

    Israel keeps thinking it’s going to get a cheap peace or that its problems with the Palestinians can be solved with violence. Short of full-scale ethnic cleansing they can’t. Nor can they make peace with their lapdogs in the Fatah, the only people who might be able to enforce a peace are Hamas. You have to make peace with your enemies and it has to be those enemies who are able to enforce peace. Only Hamas can do that. Fatah can’t and Israel can’t, and they can’t bomb or assassinate Hamas into peace either.

    So the Left sees Hamas as the key to peace – the same Hamas that slaughtered hundreds of Fatah Palestinians a while back. The same Hamas that has fire fights with the Egyptian Army. Others on the Left are so tight with the language usage that they attack the Huffington Post for “taking cues from Fox News” because a writer at HuffPo called the strikes “retaliatory”.

    It looks like the American Left is being as obstinate as Hamas and hezbollah. Of course, it’s easy for them to be obstinate as long as the whole rest of the world pays the real price and finally comes up with a solution that they can gripe about.

  • A Merry Marxist Christmas

    I’m not what you might call a religious person. I rarely address religious issues here largely because I don’t understand the intricacies that separate the various sects and congregations. I only know what’s in my heart. And I know bullshit when I see it. A good way to make me think it’s bullshit early is to begin the conversation with a quote from Hugo Chavez on heaven to introduce the issue.

    Some member of the “Catholic Peace Movement” wrote a fairly lengthy line of BS that Christianity is the only thing missing from Marxism that’ll make Marxism work. He wrote it on Christmas Day;

    Christianity and Marxism are brothers of the same Father – Yahweh, the true God. The Christian message is that a new earth is achievable – the Kingdom of Heaven has blossomed among us. We have only to seize it by our faith and it will live in our hearts and in our societies because the God who guarantees it is trustworthy. The resurrection shows us the path beyond death. Christian faith is the missing key to socialist praxis. We can only achieve socialism through faith in God, not through economic determinism, which is an expression of the very dehumanization which socialism seeks to overcome.

    “The Marxist critique of anti-Utopian Christianity remains completely relevant and the image of God to which Marxist analysis now leads is no longer that of the supreme being but rather the God of the Christian message. This is a God within the human praxis of liberation, one who can provide Utopian praxis with a justification that goes beyond what is humanly achievable. From this perspective, something that is not humanly achievable can be declared achievable: the realm of freedom.

    Now, we all know that Marx demonized religion as the opiate of the people. We all know that the ACLU has been doing it’s level best to remove Christianity from the United States, so I’m guessing real Marxists are using the “Catholic Peace Movement” as a smoke screen to attract traditionally  Republican Christians towards the peace movement. Except that anyone that has watched Marxism practiced knows that Marxism is the exact opposite of freedom and guilding it with Christianity doesn’t make it any more attractive.

    The writer also makes the mistake of comparing Marxism to capitalism. Capitalism is not a form of government – but the Marxists have been making that mistake for nearly two centuries. They don’t dare compare Marxism to democracy because Marxism pales in the comparison. They prefer to talk in terms of economics instead of ideology.

    It’s beginning to appear to me that no aspect of the “Peace Movement” isn’t tinged by Marxists/Socialists/Communists.
