  • The Lone Wolf Pack

Courtesy of This Ain’t Hell, another “sanctimonious, terrible posting” from JD

Just this past week, five more members of the United States Armed Forces were murdered by an Islamist jihadi. Four Marines and a Sailor. All around the media, communist-progressive propagandists were wondering what possible motive Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez had. MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell questioned whether he might be just another Southern gun nut. You know, like the psycho who murdered those people in the Church. Some other joker said we don’t know if this is a Muslim name or not, we do know it is an Arab name. Let me see, Mohammad. Has a familiar ring to it. The Rainbow House tweeted out “From my family to yours, Eid Mubarak! – @POTUS to Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.”

I have never owned a Confederate battle flag. A buddy of mine had a Zippo lighter with one on it. But no one carries Zippos any longer. Miss that lighter fluid burn on my thigh. I think I might get one of those flags. Might as well right? A psycho lunatic murders people in a church. A photo of him is posted holding a Confederate battle flag. He immediately became the communist-progressive media’s poster boy for the south. Andrea Mitchell’s southern gun nut. Because of the little flag he held in a photo, if you are Southern and white you are now identified with a psycho lunatic murderer. So much so that the communist-progressives want to expunge your existence from the history of their nation.

Here in the Twilight zone, we are still searching for motives. We still cannot associate murderers with their cause.

The following is a repost of The Lone Wolf Pack, previously posted March 6, 2011. We have more lone wolves to add to the list.

I spent nearly a decade of my life in cold war “West Germany.” I have been to Ramstein Air Base and Rhein Main Air Base and also to the Frankfurt Airport more times than I can recall. Also, I have been a passenger on countless military shuttle bus rides in and around Germany’s US military communities. These busses carry everything from school children, to military personnel going to and from work and families headed for the shopping centers. For would be attackers, they are soft targets. They are not defended, they are low risk, and they produce maximum damage, and provide maximum impact.

The attack on Air Force personnel at the Frankfurt Airport, we are told, is another lone wolf attack. Just another guy who woke up in the morning and decided, not influenced by anyone or any group, to go out and shoot up a bus load of Americans while praising his Muslim god. He was an employed German born citizen obviously suffering from American oppression.

The lone wolf attacks are adding up, but our government will not properly label them as terrorism. In mental health circles, I believe this is called suicidal ideation. We had the mass murdering Army major at Fort Hood. We had a would be bloomers bomber and the Times Square bomber. We had the shooting at the Arkansas military recruiting station. We also had the recent Texas Jihadi. There are probably more that I don’t even recall. Most thinking people can see a developing pattern here and an obvious common denominator. We are left to wonder how many of these so-called lone wolf killers are roaming the streets in American communities.

I imagine out in the wild there is a lone wolf or two running outside the pack, but I am fairly certain they are of a single motivation and influence. They are influenced by their need to survive, which motivates them to kill something and eat it. Our lone wolves are too of a single motivation and influence.

The United States Attorney General, when asked about it, was unable to bring himself to say that radical Islam influenced any of our so-called lone wolf killers or want to be killers. The chief law enforcement officer of the land cannot concede that these hopeful killers have a common motivation, which is to kill infidels preferably of the American and Jewish variety that originates from a common influence. Islam. Holder is not an imbecile, so I do not know what conclusions to draw from his inability to concede the obvious and then work hard to protect Americans from it. Unless these are also the Attorney General’s people.

When asked if the attack in Germany was considered a terrorist attack, State Department spokesman P. J. Crowley asked, “Was the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords a terrorist attack? I mean, you have to look at the evidence and look at the motivation and then you make a judgment.” Wow! P. J., there was come commonality, both were lunatics. One however, was influenced by his psychosis and the other by his religion, which tells him to kill infidels. Even the stupid infidels who work for the State Department.

These people are killing or trying to kill Americans while proclaiming the greatness of their Muslim god. Hey Eric, in police work I am told they call that a clue and modus operandi. If you believe that any of these murderers decided of their own volition and without any outside influence to murder or attempt to murder Americans, there is probably room for you in our current State Department or US Attorney General’s Office or at a minimum a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Commission now that Libya lost their spot.

In Iran, when the people wanted to rid themselves of the Islamic theocracy, our national position was to “not meddle.” In Egypt where the secular regime was friendly toward America we cheered for a new government. As daffy Khadafy bombs, shoots and strafes his own we offer little beyond stern finger wagging.

We have yoked ourselves to this region and to the Islamic culture that is irreconcilably incompatible with our freedom and representative form of government. We are engaged in a war that is as old as Isaac and Ishmael and it will continue until the last confrontation between good and evil. We cannot stop it, but we do need to have leaders with common sense enough to protect us as they are sworn to.

The angel of the LORD also said to her [Hagar]: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.” Genesis 16:11-12

  • What do you suppose will be next?

I have no affection for the Confederate battle flag and I understand that it means different things to different people. I also do not think it is a good idea for it fly over the grounds of a state government, but I also firmly believe if it does, it is the state’s business. Not mine and most certainly not the business of the federal government. Like it or not, that emblem is part of the history of this nation. Do we want to wipe away our history, most especially the ugly parts of it? Wipe away a time that split not only our country, but families too? Bury the history of the time that divided us to the point that we took up arms and started killing one another? Should not an informed citizenry want to understand all of the events that led up to that conflict so as to not repeat it? All of the reasons and events that led up to that deadly split? Certainly we would not want to bury or mischaracterize any history surrounding an important event in the life of our nation. Would we?

So let us not stop with a flag. Let us dig up long buried remains and move them somewhere – anywhere. A landfill maybe? We must tear down statues, rename schools, rename roads, rename all of those U.S. Army Bases now named for Confederate Generals…. And, if we pursue this logic to the very end, what else can we expunge from our history?

“History can be well written only in a free country.” Voltaire, May 27, 1773

From the blizzard of 1977 until July 1980, I was assigned to the ROTC Instructor Group, Gannon University, Erie, Pennsylvania. The local expression is that there are only two seasons in Erie. Winter and the 4th of July. That is fairly accurate. Considering on the July day my family and I got in the car and headed south, the temperature barely broke 50 degrees. Not to worry, it was 104 the day we arrived at Fort McClellan, Alabama. It was my first encounter with a heat mirage rising from the asphalt. But, back to Gannon. At one time in its history, ROTC was compulsory for all freshmen attending Gannon. A story was related to me by some of the long time staff concerning the Vietnam years when there was a push to ban the ROTC from Gannon the same was there was at other schools. Its proper name was the Department of Military Science. As the story was told to me, it actually came to a heated meeting of faculty and was prepared for a vote. The Monsignor, I was told, made his speech and ended it with a question. After we remove the Department of Military Science, which department do we remove next?

After we have wiped any reminders of the Confederacy from our history, what do you suppose will be next? What other disagreeable and offensive symbols must be removed from our sight along with their history.

I do not know if we are already traveling down the road of forgotten history or worse yet we are remembering a history that is racked with inaccuracies and exclusions. We must return to our beginning and revisit the missteps, otherwise we will repeat them. That is what we do.

  • Is it worth it?

I served 3 tours in Germany, a total just barely short of 9 years. During those years, duty and time permitting my wife, son and I were able to see some of Europe. In 1988 or thereabouts, we booked a tour to Holland’s Tulip festival. A tour of Amsterdam preceded the Tulip Festival. Aside from Anne Franke’s house and a boat ride through the canals, the remainder of the Amsterdam tour was quite enlightening as to what post-Christian means. I see that clearer now than I did during a trip nearly thirty years past.

I remember being in Amsterdam’s Dam Square beside their National War Memorial. The stench was quite bad. It smelled like a giant urinal. Graffiti covered buildings were visible in every direction. Not the reverence I would expect a country to pay a war memorial. It was not the place to take your family.

No Amsterdam tour is complete without a walking tour of the Red Light district. Picture windows line the streets and in those red lit windows sit prostitutes advertising their wares leaving little to the imagination. Also along those streets are the drug bars. Legal of course. Then there are the bars with explicit signage advertising their live shows and before a youngster can ask his dad what that means, a sleazy looking street hawker clears up all doubt. Probably a great location for a rainbow colored Whitehouse. The Red Light district was packed with tourists. There was no line at Anne Franke’s house.

I cannot imagine that Biblical Sodom was much different from this place. With our country’s accelerated drive toward moral relativism, legalization of drugs, and a push toward a Post-Christian America one can but wonder how long before Hometown America begins to mimic Amsterdam.

I was reading some C. S. Lewis thoughts on what he termed Post-Christian Europe and Post-Christian man. To summarize it into my own words, he surmised rather clearly that Christian man had much more in common with the Pre-Christian pagan than he does with the Post-Christian man. At least the pagan and the Christian alike adhered to natural law.

Riding the tour bus out of Amsterdam, if I saw a structure that was not covered with graffiti I do not remember it. It is one of the images that remain in my mind. Leaving the city and entering a rather pristine countryside covered with tulip fields drew a stark contrast. It was like two separate worlds, connected by language but little else.

Here in America, we are even losing the language connection and like every other assault on anything distinctly American that too is purposeful.

I received an email following last week’s post and someone ask me what are we supposed to do about all this change. “How do we fight it?” The undertone of sheer frustration was obvious in the email.

There is only one thing each person can do. It starts by knowing what you believe. Knowing the source of the truth that is the foundation of what you believe. And having the fortitude and willingness to stand firm regardless of the consequences.

Understand and hold firm that man did not give us freedom; therefore man cannot alter our path or take away our freedom. Freedom cannot be taken it can only be forfeited.

In the service, each person knew of the obligation to refuse to carry out an illegal order. In our 50 states, we must have leaders who know when a Supreme Court decision has no basis in law or in the Constitution and who have the fortitude to challenge it – disobey it. We have too few willing to stand up.

At some point, each of us will have to decide if it is worth it. Worth it to go into the streets in mass and stand up for what is right and to keep our country free. Red, White and Blue are the only colors that should ever light “our” Whitehouse.

  • What killed America?

Was it two dominant political parties always in opposition and vying for power as the founders warned was a great threat to our Constitution? That is certainly as good a candidate as any. These men and women do doggoned little these days, if they ever did, to represent Americans. They instead court the money and the powerful quid pro quo. It pads their pockets and points them to insider deals that make them wealthy on a civil servants’ salary. My one man poll places the popularity and effectiveness of the United States Congress somewhere just below whale crap.

Was it when we started purging God from society? Removing prayer and any other vestiges of Him first from schools and then from any place where one might encounter an offensive Christian symbol. Even though our founding documents make the foundation of this lost nation quite clear. According to at least one Supreme Court Justice, those founders could not have envisioned what freedom and liberty encompasses in our more enlightened modern world. Apparently he does not think God got it right either. Well, who the hell am I to question a Supreme Court Judge? One of America’s appointed for life honest brokers. Turn away now, spewing your drink onto the monitor will just make a mess and hot coffee shooting out of your nose can be painful, although it will clear your sinuses.

Was it when we began abandoning people who wanted freedom? About the time a progressive Congress cut off all aid to the South Vietnamese leading to a communist victory, executions, and re-education camps and to Pol Pot’s killing fields. That emboldened enemies and pushed allies away. Clearly we did not learn from that, because we allowed them to do it again in the Middle East. As we scooted, once again from a hard fought military victory, we opened up the gates of hell on the region’s Christian population and anyone else opposing the death cult that clearly spends its nights thinking up more creative ways to murder people. We do drone one of them occasionally, that will show them.

Was it when the Supreme Court found in the Constitution the right to kill unborn children? Want to speak to me about genocide? We own the greatest one ever committed – and it is ongoing. Our president did ask God to bless Planned Parenthood once following a speech to them. Probably not a good idea. As a nation, we will answer for it someday.

Was it multiculturalism? The advent of hyphenated-Americanism? It was when we started picking the carrots and peas out of the melting pot that we began the Balkanization of America. Geeze I forgot we are not allowed to say melting pot anymore because, well, it might offend someone who does not care about assimilating. Being a freedom loving American became passé. American values replaced by hyphenated-American values and effectively destroying what we did have in common – love and appreciation for the freest and greatest nation ever.

Was it when spoiled Hollywood brats started visiting our enemies during war and making propaganda radio broadcasts, hippies burning draft cards and running off to Canada. Or was it when deserters had their bad discharges upgraded and draft dodgers were granted amnesty – and elected president.

Was it when we lost control of our borders and control of who enters our country? Maybe it was when we lost the language. Push 1 for English… When you sing your Christmas carols what image pops into your mind when you sing “don we now our gay apparel?” The language, political correctness all of it together and it is like we followed Alice into Wonderland and have no human guide to bring us back home.

Was it when the Supreme Court decided to rewrite laws by redefining a penalty as a tax and declaring that established by a state really means established by the federal government. Words now mean whatever some self-perceived enlightened judge says they mean. It is just a matter of time until they redefine what it means to keep and bear arms or any other right for that matter. Was it when the court found another right – homosexual marriage – in the Constitution? Using the same rationale for God, one must assume, as used to decide the founders could not have envisioned the modern world. Uh.. Sodom – Gomorrah.

Was it when we decided we would start removing pieces of American history because someone finds them offensive? Does that differ from ISIS destroying artifacts from ancient cultures? Minus the murder it differs not. History hidden and forgotten is history repeated. You cannot find a Confederate flag on Amazon, but you can find Nazi items, any communist flag you can name, the Black Panther Flag the people who stood in the streets of Charleston and said “finish the mission, kill all of the slave masters”, and the Nation of Islam flag whose leader just declared “we have to put down the American flag.”

Was it passive Christians who did not push back? Was it passive Christian ministers who frightened of losing their tax status failed to speak from the pulpit about where the nation was headed?

It was the man in the mirror who grew apathetic, who took freedom for granted, who grew ignorant of the history and founding of our country, grew ignorant of the political process, voted for a party not a man or woman, desired to pass his problems off to the government to solve…

  • Bullies, Secret Deals and Republicrats

Big Rita had a bad habit. She liked to bully people – generally people decidedly smaller than her. One week it was me in her sights. Every day my hair was pulled, I was smacked in the back of the head, shoved to the ground. It was one thing or another. At my expense, Big Rita was having a big old time. She was not giving me love licks, and culture taught me that boys did not fight with girls. Knowledge Rita used to full advantage. Finally, though it happened. On Friday just as I left the school bus, she decided to let me have another smack in the back of my head. It hurt. It must have been a sight when I leaped around her neck and bulldogged her fat face into the coal dust covered roadside. Beyond that instance of blind fury, I did not have much of a plan. I did know that I was going to keep her nose in the dirt until she quit kicking. When that happened, Big Rita got up and ran home bawling and never again revisited her evil ways. At least not with me.

That was my first life lesson with bullies. Bullies continue until their faces are forcibly ground into the dirt. Only then, will they consider a change of direction. Bullies abound in the world and some of them are committing unspeakable atrocities. They will continue what has become habit until forcibly held to account. We have bullies here in the gold old U. S. of A. too. They insist they want to be accepted for who they are. I agree with that thought and so do most people. The problem is they are led by factions that do not seek acceptance. They seek dominance. They want to suppress opposing thought to the point of destroying people and their businesses. Until and unless bullies get a taste of their own methods, they will not change their ways and society will lose because of it.

Did I ever tell you about Grandpa Johnny winning the county hollering contest? He was my Grandpa on Mother’s side. From whom I inherited red hair, baldness and a lifetime of being vertically challenged. Like most West Virginians of his generation, Grandpa had a lifetime of tough physical labor. For a good amount of time, he owned a timbering and saw mill operation. Grandpa had ailments one would expect of a man who led a tough physical life. A joint that did not ache was a rarity and he had some nether region issues too. He had a tube of ointment he rubbed on those achy joints. He also had a tube of ointment for those nether region issues too. He also had poor eyesight. Grandpa was a smart enough man to know to treat the nether regions first. The problem is that in haste and with failing eyesight, Grandpa grabbed the wrong ointment tube. My Uncle tells us he won the county hollering contest that day.

Have you wondered about the secret trade deal the Chamber of Commerce Republicans have partnered with the President to pass? It is one of those we will have to pass it to see what is in it arrangements. I think most of us can figure it out. The middle class everyone swears they are about to save will again take one in the shorts while the political elite and the Wall Street they swear they are going to challenge will walk away with fatter bank accounts. About the only reaction we will have is like Grandpa Johnny’s when he grabbed the wrong ointment tube. At least, that is, until enough of us get off our rears and vote.

I do not know if I am enjoying the Democrat war on the Clintons or not. The media is trying to gin up a campaign against George Bush and Hillary and O’Malley tell us it is time for someone to take on Wall Street and stand up for the middle class. Hillary wants to be our champion. Yes that was a snort you heard. It is rather humorous. One has to suppose it is the Whitehouse that is trying to derail the Clinton express. One must also wonder how long it will be before the old Clinton war machine unloads some really bad stuff on the Obamas. You really do not want to corner a wild animal if you can help it. Especially one you have wounded and is convinced it is fight or die time.

But, do not fret. Our favorite establishment, corporate loving, chamber of commerce Republicrats will figure out how to put Mrs. Clinton, or some other communist, back in the Whitehouse.

  • To you from failing hands we throw the torch

    Memorial Day

“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.” — General George S. Patton Jr.

    In Flanders Fields

    Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, 1872-1918

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie

    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies blow
    In Flanders fields.

  • The Thrill is Gone

It was in the late 1960’s when I first listened to some B. B. King music. A childhood friend had just returned from Vietnam. Joe had a reel to reel tape recorder that was playing continuously whenever his younger brother Bob and I were around. Joe had quite the pot habit and he consumed good quantities of it with everything from B.B.’s The Thrill is Gone to the Tokens singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight playing in the background.

Knowing what I know now that I most certainly did not know then, Joe probably had posttraumatic stress disorder. The music and the marijuana a coping mechanism perhaps. I do not know whatever became of Joe. The last I heard he was on a cross country hitchhiking trek with another of my friends and was involved in a serious vehicle accident. Yes, some people of my generation took that as an adventure. I actually started out with another friend to give it a try. After standing at an on ramp for a couple of hours with our thumbs out, we gave up. Probably for the best.

That is where my mind was while traveling the two lane blacktop to the cemetery where my parents rest. Dad was a World War II Sailor. I love driving two lane roads through the country side the radio fixed on the 60s channel. All familiar music taking me back to a time that probably shaped who I am today.

The drive was enjoyable even when bubba rolled up behind me in his pickup truck. Bubba did not appear happy that I was cruising along at the speed limit. He probably grew more perturbed when he read my bumper sticker that says “Sorry for driving so close in front of you” that is assuming Bubba could read. Too bad he did not see the one I used to have that Suzie-Q made me remove. “Armed Disgruntled Veteran On Board.” When we were about six inches inside a passing zone Bubba took off like a streak rebel flags and all. If you are going to drive 80 in a 55 zone why would you worry about whether you were in a passing zone or not. When I am driving through a beautiful country side I recall the words from a Mac Davis tune, “you’ve got to stop and smell the roses along the way.” We all have our Bubba-Americans. I never let Bubba ruin the moment.

Thinking about Bubba caused me to think of something else that just annoys the heck out of me. Polling. Open up any news site on the Internet or listen to any program that bills itself as news and you will not get too far before you hear that the latest poll determined that 30 percent of us are Bubba-Americans. These days, there is every brand of hyphenation imaginable and a poll to support it. We are effectively polarized into our own little identity groups. Each of us demanding special dispensation because of the group we identify with.

It seems that we took that old national motto and flipped it on its ear. From many one is now from one many. Sadly, we have abandoned the thing that made this the greatest nation in the history of nations. The idea that many people of all walks can come together and embrace a single idea, freedom, and form a government and a nation around that idea is nothing short of a miracle.

I looked down at the Veteran’s marker at the foot of my Father’s grave and thought of the numbers of men and women who have fought to preserve the one thing that sets us apart from the rest of the world. Freedom. Will we miss it when it is gone?

Unless we can all forget our identities long enough to remember that 100 percent of us are Americans and we are indeed freedom’s last stand America is over. Freedom and the thrill of knowing it will be gone away from us.

  • Nationalized Police?

I have two posts today. The one that follows this one is a re-post from 2008. When I wrote it, I got a lot of conspiracy theory like snarky comments for my effort.

Recently, there has been turmoil in our city streets. Businesses destroyed, property destroyed and police officers and National Guard told to stand down. Each and every one of these events is manufactured. They are built upon a false narrative from the media using one of our most precious rights to further an ideology and doing it with full knowledge that they are telling outright lies to the American people. Events such as these manufactured riots are not without purpose.

When added to the false narrative put out across the media people who are equivalent to black turban wearing Imams whip mobs of functional illiterates into destructive frenzy. Then, they begin to demand social justice. The very people who would cry lynch mob themselves become a destructive lynch mob. These mobs have been so worked up and the police in the cities so demonized that now police officers are being shot. The latest one just yesterday.

Then, in rides a politicized justice system whose professed purpose is to solve the manufactured problem. In other words, to deliver justice in the name of the wronged citizen. Never mind the wronged citizen robbed a store, assaulted a policeman and was returning to finish the job when he was justifiably shot. But, is that their real purpose? Or have they whipped illiterate mobs into rage to further a greater aim. A purpose even those in the mob believing someone is looking out for them and expecting favor will regret if it is ever realized. Their lives most certainly transformed – fundamentally so.

The picture painted by the complicit media and the purveyors of social just is that local police forces simply cannot be trusted to protect the citizenry. So, the federal government must take steps to fix them. Elijah Cummings is leading the call from his perch atop of the Congressional Black Caucus to nationalize local police forces. Eric Holder has been using and abusing power of the Justice Department to control local police. Just this week, Whitehouse Advisor Al Tawana Brawley Sharpton made the call for nationalizing local police forces.

When you view local police departments and the amounts of surplus military equipment they have been receiving, everything from armored vehicles to assault weapons, have you ever wondered why? The standard response is that they need the additional equipment to better respond. To what? When federal agencies, even the US Postal Service started buying millions of rounds ammunition, the most in demand ammunition, did you ever wonder why?

People can only be pressed so far. They will only stand by for so long while their property and livelihoods are destroyed with police under orders to give the protestors room to do just that. Some day there will be a push back, which is probably just the tipping point dear leader seeks.

So, you propagandist in the media that delivered us to this point and you spineless Washington politicians who have sat back and watched things deteriorate at a more accelerated pace, please do the following:

[From 2008]Tell me again about that National Security Force….

What do you think about the Russian analyst who predicted the demise and breakup of the United States? I have news for him. The breakup of the United States was completed the day that being a Hyphenated-American became more important than being just an American. I needed to clear that thought from my mind before moving on.

I recently scanned an article in a paper produced by a professional military association. It talked about the President-elect and what the military and veterans should expect from him. What the article amounted to was a regurgitation of talking points provided to them by a political campaign. I was rather disappointed.

One political statement made by President-elect Obama, or campaign promise, whichever way you choose to characterize it, concerns me a great deal. It should concern everyone. It should concern professional military associations also, but like most other things here in the twilight zone of news and information suppression, it has not garnered much attention. The media, that bastion of investigative and objective journalism, is too busy basking in its political victory to be curious about what it may bring to their doorstep. Before all of our voices are suppressed by the Fairness Doctrine and the Googstapo, I suggest we forget all of the conspiracy theories and lawsuits bouncing around the net and concentrate on those concrete ideas expressed to us by Mr. Obama before we elected him.

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

“Just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded..” According to the Department of Defense, the active duty military strength as of June 30, 2008 was 1,385,122. There are 1,105,297 active duty military in the United States and its territories and 279,825 in foreign countries. These numbers do not include the military reserves. The National Defense Budget for 2008 was 647.2 billion dollars. Why would we need a “civilian national security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded” as that?

What exactly does the President-elect envision as the mission of this force? Every state has a State Police Force. Every Governor has at his or her disposal the state’s National Guard. We have the Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, The U.S. Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the US Coastguard and probably some agencies I have never heard of. The question that comes to mind is what exactly will the President’s national security force do that is not already accomplished by these organizations? I am not going to write the answers that keep popping into my mind; just suffice it to say that none of them are good.

Since we appear to be shredding our Constitution, it does not surprise me that no one as yet has raised any legal questions about this force. The Posse Comitatus Act prevents the use of the military to enforce civil law in the United States. It also protects the liberties of citizens. What protections of our liberties would we have from this “civilian national security force”?

Mr. Obama made some other comments about national security that should concern all citizens and should especially concern professional military people.

“… I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending [and use it to fund my civilian national security force?]. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems [while the Iranians develop nuclear weapons and test long range missiles]. I will not weaponize space [but the Chinese have already started]. I will slow our development of future combat systems. [the systems that keep our Soldiers alive and provide them a battlefield advantage]

“I will institute an independent defense priorities board to ensure that the Quadrennial Review is not used to justify unnecessary defense spending.

“Third, I will set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenal.”

When these statements are considered along with the concept of a civilian national security force just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded, it should concern any thinking American. It has me thinking. Thinking that I should be making improvements to the home bunker.
