Just before I retired, I was awarded a Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Up to that time, I was hoping to retire as probably the highest ranking enlisted (MSgt) without these two awards. I was denied the honor, dang it!
