Our buddy, Scotty, hunted down this clown, Keith Keeton, who apparently won the Gulf War all by himself. The story he tells is that, as a staff sergeant, he was receiving the surrender of an Iraqi general when he was shot by his Saudi translator’s pistol (the first victim of a green-on-blue attack), earning a Purple Heart, and as an engineer, he killed an Iraqi T-72 tank, despite the fact that Engineers don’t have an anti-armor capability once they leave the cover of the infantry unit to which they’re attached.

Anyway, here’s what the NPRC says about the Purple Heart;

There’s also no mention of that Bronze Star, either.

You’ll notice in the picture that he’s wearing jump wings and a Purple Heart on his little motorcycle jacket. Well, there’s no jump school listed in his training;

And his participation in the Gulf War lasted 11 days a couple of weeks after the war ended;

    Course, if (and I say ‘if’, since I’m still willing to give you the benefit of the doubt) there is no documentation to support your claims (BSM, PH, …), you could easily contact the staff at TAH, apologize for any and all publicly made false claims and/or misrepresentations on your part, the TAH staff would fill in the readership on the details, and this whole issue would dry up and blow away. Well, maybe not all. But a lot of it, anyway.

    Think about how nice it would be not to have your name show up in the “Recent Comments” section of the TAH front page every single day of the week. Sweet, right?

    @166, @171, @206 and @212 – Yeah, I’m thinking it’s time to give up the ghost on this one, now at the two month mark. I can only urge Keith “Big Dawg” Riley Keeton to do the right thing, but if he’s intent on living with this hanging over his head, instead of simply coming clean and apologizing, then so be it.

    Note that I never typed out the names of the three business that he’s listed as running. He may have employees for all I know, and if so, it isn’t their fault that their boss is a schmuck.

    I’m not sure that you get it. It isn’t about whether or not he’s still a member of your MC club. It’s about Keith “Big Dawg” Riley Keeton’s choice of 1) Proving his publicly made claims of military service/experience by providing the requisite documentation, 2) Fessing up to the staff at TAH regarding his ass-hattery or 3) Living with the lies.

    Really interested in seeing this all made right (or as close to right as possible) so that your MC club’s name isn’t being dragged through the mud?

    Step 1 – Talk to Keith about Option 2 (above). Seems you have the ability to do so. He’s been around these here parts too. See comment 191. This horse ain’t dead, it’s lame.

    Step 2 – Have your MC club’s hierarchy give Phildo the boot.

  34. Green thumb…you call it a weak ass motorcycle club? So, one or two bad apples spoil a batch is your perspective then? I guess when those that do the same in our military, law enforcement or other agencies you considered them all weak ass too? That’s a poor perception you have.
    As far as Big Dawg is concerned…the club part is done and even if no apology was given they all know now thanks to those that brought it out. Those wanting to obtain more, I’m sure someone can get a hold of him considering they got all this other information.
    Monk have far more worries then the MC world right now.

    On the other hand: how an organization polices itself does reflect on the organization. There, you’re sending mixed signals.

    Your organization made a good start in terminating “Big Dog”. But doing that while giving others a pass for doing the same doesn’t look good.

    Your club; your call. But others also see what’s going on.

  36. Okay, why is the club only being recognized? They brought all this information to light and though he rode a bike in a club, why not go after his job or business? Why hasn’t that company been affected and pushed the issue for a termination? As Monk, his business is now from hearsay is under investigation. So, I’m sure his days are coming to an end soon enough.
