Greg Cheesedick Banks in the news

WFSB 3 Connecticut

So, as Oathkeeper has been telling you, Greg Banks gets the fame for which he hungered;

State Rep. Jack Hennessy said he can sum up the need for the stolen valor bill he’s supporting at the Connecticut General Assembly in two words: Greg Banks.

“It just robs the valor of the men and woman who wear the uniform,” Hennessy said.

Hennessy added that the allegations involving Banks were “very much” upsetting.

The bill existed before the I-Team exposed the counselor who’s been posing as a member of the United States Army Special Forces. Hennessy cited the investigation by the I-Team as an example of why it’s needed.

Jack Hennessy was my room mate in the 1st Battalion 75th Rangers about 40 years ago, so yes, he is a tabbed Ranger. And, yes, I put the bug in someone’s ear about him.

“When I was a Ranger, I knew that I could be called by my country to go into a combat zone to give up my life and I was willing to do that,” Hennessy said. “To have people who have not been in the military to pose as that, it takes away from the people who have actually made their commitment and some the ultimate commitment giving their lives.”

Since the original story by I-Team aired, the station has heard from multiple people who had counseling sessions with Banks at his offices in Farmington and in Danbury and all believed at the time that he was a soldier.

A man, who saw Banks for marriage counseling, said he often canceled appointments saying he had last-minute missions overseas.

A woman, who was ordered by a court to see Banks for substance abuse counseling, said he told her he worked with the United States Army Special Forces and the Brookfield Police Department.

Banks does live in Brookfield, but the local police chief told the I-Team his department has never had any contact with Banks.

We’re still waiting for our apology, Greg. An apology for stealing valor, an apology for Alex’ threatening phone calls, an apology for the lies in your emails about someone stealing your identity. An apology for thinking we’re so stupid that we’d fall for any of it. And an apology to your patients, and you need to give them a pass for canceling their appointments after the TV report aired the first time. F*ck nut.

  1. Didn’t the CT Dept of Health get notified about this loser a long time before his antics hit the airwaves? I hope that they’re not taking action now just because of the publicity.

  2. @52 – They sure did. And they didn’t give two rat’s a**es. It’s really pathetic. They need to step it up ricky-tick on nailing his licenses. They keep saying they need more proof.

Pretty sure we’re past the “beyond reasonable doubt” part.

  3. for Oathkeeper and MCPO NYC USN.

Skip the state license for now and go for the national certification. If he doesn’t have a valid national certification, he can’t have the state one.

The NCC has clearly laid out their code of ethics and have a reporting process for violations. Looking at the CoE, Banks has violated more than a few of them.

The I-Team might want to contact them too.

    NBCC,

Thank you for the speedy reply. I am pleased that you organization has such policies.

The individual is Gregory Charles Banks of Connecticut and apparently he is a member of and certified through your organization. He has been accused (and verified) of impersonating a US Army Commissioned Officer, claims to be a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient, and there are multiple witnesses and plenty of photographic evidence to support the fact and notion … that HE IS a VALOR THIEF!

The press has been notified, a CBS affiliate is investigating and he has been highlighted on one of the nation’s most popular STOLEN VALOR blogs: https://www.azuse.cloud/?p=39262&cpage=3#comment-1092632

We would most highly recommend that you elevate this report to the chairman and or president of your organization.

My report to you is done in good faith and we fully expect that your organization conduct a full investigation in accordance with the policies you cited below.

I will not submitting a report, this email in its form is notice enough to cause your organization to conduct a full investigation.

    Regards,

    Good Afternoon:

Thank you for your e-mail to the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Ethics Department. Such reviews follow established policies and procedures including the Ethics Case Procedures and the Certification Eligibility Policy Relating to Criminal and Lesser Offense Convictions, and other Disciplinary Matters. (These are available for your review at http://www.nbcc.org/ServiceCenter/Ethics.

Next, if the person is a certificant and you believe that a violation of the NBCC Code of Ethics has occurred, you will need to complete a Statement of Grievance and submit relevant documentation. If the counselor is not certified by NBCC, you may want to contact the state licensure board. For information on how to file a state board complaint, I must refer you to them. The following page has their contact information: http://www.nbcc.org/directory.

  5. You don’t mess with The BatTAH!

EX-PH2 – computer went poof! Email sucks on phone, call me to finish our thoughts on last email.

  6. Hey, Greggy!!! How’s all the attention? Is it everything you wanted? Are you reveling in your new found fame?

  7. I posted here about Greg Banks before (the phony soldier/therapist), you know, this guy: https://www.azuse.cloud/?p=39262 and, also posted about the fact I filed a complaint against him a while ago (I had seen him in 2013, and then filed a complaint months later), for being a weird, phony asshole and also a few other things that therapists (if he actually is one) shouldn’t say/do. I spoke to a social worker handling my case on the phone who had called me, and explained my experience with him. The social worker in the letter also told me that she had numerous other complaints against him, too. Wonder why. Well today, I get this letter in the mail (blocked out my name/address): so … clearly, this is a lie, I did see him for “therapy” (if you can call it that, it was more like talking to a disinterested hobo on the side of the street …) Once in person in his farmington, ct office on 318 Main Street, and subsequently on the phone afterwards, because I could not visit his office for in person sessions. I paid him for his first session with me … ($50) via a money order afterwards … on his sliding scale fee. However, he isn’t doing this “I’m gonna lie, but let’s mix in bits of truth here and there to make it believable” thing very well. Not sure why he has to lie about everything. Just come clean already, greggy boy, yea? everyone knows you’re a phony, no use in lying anymore. So, in order for my complaint go forward, which I would like it to, I need to show “proof” that I saw him for sessions. Only problem is, I have none in paper … I don’t even have the money order receipt that I used to pay him. Any advice? I mean, if he wants to play hard ball … so can I.
