  1. 87/96 (91%). My problem was that I am notoriously bad with my knowledge of the Presidents. Sure, the big names are okay, but the lesser known ones (Woodrow Wilson–I hate that guy) are more difficult. Oh, and I mixed up the term lengths of the Senators and Representatives. The others were brain farts.

  2. Got #62 wrong; the phrasing confused me. Now I understand what they were asking! 😉

Agree with Tim about the Emancipation Proclamation. I also want to quibble about #24. We declared independence on July 2. The Declaration document was only a public explanation for that act. To my mind, the question implies that we declared our independence on July 4, which is not true. I recall reading a quote from (I think) Adams joyfully writing that July 2 would be observed every year by bonfires, celebrations, and fireworks. Well, he was close… 🙂

…Is it true that only men have to register for Selective Service? Shouldn’t that be fixed now? Equal rights and all that, yanno. Wouldn’t it be funny if the women of the nation rose in arms (metaphorically) over that?

#46 should be amended “Never, if you’re Tim Geithner.”

I so wanted to answer (name the two parties) “The Communist Party and the Stupid Party.”

  3. @Old Tanker,

Thanks but I truly think that any American that pays attention should be able to pass that test. If I can with just general knowledge, anyone that has done American history or civics class should pass it easily.

But we all know that a lot of people do not pay attention to the most basic of things going on in the world.
